"Press the stone in this Octo-walzer's head, or the purple sun symbol. Press a thing purple you can. Aaaaaaaahhhhhh!" wails the gnome desperately

"Aaaaaaaaahhhh my hands, my legs, my middle!!!!" screams Bruno the gnome in pain and panic. Grindhelm the dwarf drags his feet against the stone floor in the effort to tear the stuck Bruno from the spinning octopoidal altar. Calto the druid holds onto Grindhelm's waist. Bruno is battered about a bit as he spins (3 HP), and Grindhelm gets bruised (1 HP.)

Kitchi spies the purple-red disc-shaped stone in the creature's forehead. Carefully timing his approach among the spinning tentacles, the ranger leaps up to press the stone. Using the tentacles like branches on a tree, he steps and reaches up. But then he himself sticks to the statue - but his arm momentum continues and he slams the purple-red stone! No sooner than he presses it then it comes loose, and Kitchi realizes with horror that the stone disc (six inches in diameter) is stuck to his hand. But the rest of the statue is not sticky.

At that instant Grindhelm and Calto yank Bruno away from statue. It slowly stops its spinning. The other watching adventurers - Siavel, Azoth, Leomar and Blade Rain - give a sigh of relief as the altar and statue stops. Tabai, fascinated by the wall murals, observes the moon that the shooting stars are passing is the same purple-red color of the disc stone now stuck on Kitchi's hand. How interesting.

Kitchi jumps down off the statue, the disc stone stuck on his palm. Then his hand vibrates, his arm shakes, his body starts turning uncontrollably. He is becoming a whirling dervish, spinning about banging into statue, wall (4 HP), and then slamming Leomar! (3 HP)

Actions!

Calto the the Druid:

Calto quickly runs for the exit, careful to avoid being struck by the whirling ranger.
If Calto is successful in leaving the room, he will assess the situation from the safety of the hall, trying to come up with a plan to help the ranger.

Tabai whom was actively looking for the purple stone now seeing it stuck to someone as they spin around uncontrollably thinks "we'll just have to cut it off." and attempts to try and stop the spinning Kitchi using his barbarian muscles. Trying to overpower his friend long enough that someone can try and remove the stone.

Siavel hides his smirk and continues to watch what is happening in the room from the hall.

He looks a little embarrassed when the Dispel Magic is called for, again not knowing how to cast it.

Try sticking the purple disk where the moon is on the mural of shooting stars! That is all the help the mage is able to provide.

Kitchi slamming into him roused Leomar from his melancholic fugue. Seeing Kitchi spinning about the room like a whirling dervish, the thief leaps to actions and tries to tackle him to the ground.

We need to get him to stop spinning first, " he grunts back to Siavel

Alex 'Blade Rain' Vam; Human male Fighter

Alex sheathed his weapons, attempted to time it right and leaped forward in an attempt to wrap up Kitchi long enough to hold him still for the others to try and get the accursed item off of his hand....

Leomar overcomes his feelings of insecurity and leaps out to help his friend Kitchi, who at this point is near the southern tip of the diamond-shaped room. The thief grabs hold of the ranger, stopping him momentarily, tearing at the stone disc. He feels the tension and struggle withing Kitchi, like he's a vibrating spring tensed to pop. Blade Rain jumps into help, grabbing the lower portion of the ranger's body.

Leomar manages to get the stone disc away! But then it sticks to him, and he in turn undergoes the whirling curse. He spins and wheels with almost blurring speed, striking the southern tip walls (1 HP). As he does so he passes over and plunges down a 15' pit trap (8 HP) onto poison-coated spikes (8 HP, & please make Save vs. Poison.) All is suddenly quiet. The adventurers look down into the pit and see a still, apparently dead, and savagely pierced Leomar, as well as a door at the bottom of the pit.

Calto the Druid:

Calto stands at the edge of the pit, gravely peering down at his fallen comrade, "We must act quickly if we are to save him." He sets his backpack upon the ground and begins to quickly unravel his 50' of rope.
Grog, is it possible to be lowered into the pit without touching the spikes to attempt save Leomar and gain access to the revealed door?

Kitchi - Heads still spinning from the disc. Tries to regain his composure. He will take one end of the rope and secure it around the bottom of the statue. I got this get ready to get down there and Leomar.

OCC- If there anywhere other then the statue to secure the rope. He will secure it there.

Grindhelm the Dwarf

After a few seconds of silence and looking down the pit, Grindhelm speaks. "...Well... Who's going in?" he asks, kneeling down next to the pit to peer down. "That looks like it hurts... You alright there, mate?" he calls down.
So many people to keep track of races for DX Sorry Leo

It'll require a 3d6 Dex. check to go down, maintain the right balance and angle among spikes, and tie rope around Leomar.

The statue appears the most secure method for rope.

Leomar is human, Grind.

Stunned from the fall into the pit, the sight of his comrdes peering over the rim of the pit slowly comes into focus. "I think I'm alright." he calls up to Grindhelm. Lifting himself up onto his elbows, he stares numbly at the bloody spike protruding from his left thigh. "By all the gods, I truly hate this place," he says as he lowers himself back down and waits for the shock to wear off and the pain to begin.

save vs poison (12) (+3) ; [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20 at least I made the save :)

for the record, Leomar was just trying to stop Kitchi from spinning, I didn't state he was trying to remove the disc. Though I didn't explicitly state he wasn't going to try and remove it either. In any event, what's done is done and it's made for an interesting plot point.
