I see no issue with irregular posting dates as long as we know that is the normal...I have a feeling some days will be full of posts and other days go by without any...

I'd rather see that than you burn out or feel obligated just because...
Dandelion - female half-orc beautyqueen in training (The Lone City in the Wildlands) OSRIC
Halfpint - female halfling badgirl wannabe (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL
Mark'd - charismatic human fighter (Lab Lord- The North Marches) LL

I have no problem with that. In fact, that may be better for me. I am tied to a lot of other games on different sites.

Plus, if it helps you, that's better.

Whatever works best for you Dave works for me. I am always going to be dropping by so won't drift away if it goes on hold. My preference is slower anyway these days given my workload.
Good thoughts being sent your way...

I will update the game again later today.

----

That said, a lot has been going on with me the last few weeks, but the situation is such that I can safely announce that things are basically back to "normal." What this means for the game is, we can hopefully return to the previous post-per-day pace and get it moving again.

I've been slacking the last few of days (using Sylvan's missing action as my excuse), but, really, I noticed his positioning the other day and kind of knew his options would be somewhat limited. Just things.

Anyway....

Let this serve as official notice that things will be returning to the old normal going forward.

Glad things are looking up, Mr. GM.

Looking forward to stepping back into Ciar's shoes...

Er... unless halflings are always barefoot? I guess I hadn't thought that out...

This is when the Kolbolds discover the error of their ways and allow us to continue onward and take as much treasure as we want. OBVIOUSLY >.>

Did we all just get our butts handed to us by Kolbolds and boars?

These boars were no joke, though.

As I wrote to OGRE MAGE earlier today:
dmw71 wrote:You guys got so close to reaching the end of the kobold lair, and stumbled upon what is basically the grand finale, so it was going to be tough. I thought, after the final two boars left in the opposite direction, you guys had a really good shot.

When Fulp and Sparrow both fell in the same round, that really hurt. And Ciar fell to a critical hit. Just bad luck in a challenging encounter.

Well honestly, this is my first death in a RPG. It's bittersweet...

So...what now? Is this game essentially over? Do we make new characters and start over? Not sure how this works.

May it be your first and only, or the first of many.

Right now, I'm thinking this game is going to end here. I did have bigger plans for this game:

Well, I could. I actually had much bigger plans. There is a part of me that was really looking forward to you guys learning who Aeteperax was... but, that promised to be an even more deadly encounter, so was probably a long ways off yet.
But, part of the reason why I'm leaning against continuing this one, is my recent interest in moving from 2e to Moldvay Basic D&D.

I've actually been preparing to run a Basic D&D game on Roll20 for about a month now, and may end up running the same adventure here -- but, due to a potential conflict of interest, I may need to run something else. Either way, I'll almost certainly be running something before too long... but, it will almost certainly be a dungeon crawl using the BX rules.

P.S. If you want to avoid more character death... avoid Basic D&D (or, some would say, games I run)! ;)

I say this having absolutely no idea if this was a stocked adventure or if Dave built any of it, but I think the giant boars seemed a bit much for the (assumed) level of most of the characters. With the damage one hit could do, it seemed a bit much. Four of them? oof.

But... it is what it is. I still had a lot of fun, although I don't see how that final fight was win-able with our party 95% of the time.

That said, I'd be up for rolling a new character if others are interested.

Not at all my first character death, though I really enjoyed Ciar... it's just 1's and 0's, really.
