Disappointed with their findings, the group exits the larger building and looks north towards the two other structures. The nearest of which, to the northwest, finds itself half-settled into a swamp, with its front heavily covered by trees. The odd-shaped building due north also has tree coverage, but less so.

Siirist quietly suggests, "The building still on land, then? After that, maybe the one in the swamp?"

Lets make our way north then. We should keep alert along the way.

Electing to by-pass the swampy area, the group cautiously approaches the odd-shaped building to the north.

Now that the group is up close, they are able to see that there is little left besides the foundation, with most walls showing signs of serious decay. At the southernmost section there is a normal-sized opening into the structure, slightly angled from the building foundation itself shifting, but it appears relatively safe.

Dagg examines the building and then enters the entrance Standing only just inside the entrance looking around.

Dagg enters the building and, from the entrance, begins examining its contents.

Bingus holds an unlit pipe in his hand, chewing on it nervously. "Careful, Dagg!" he whispers.

Dagg relays information back to the others "Place is worse than the others part of the ceiling has collapsed but it looks like a leather tome is sticking out of some of the rubble might be worth grabbing it aint that far in." the dwarf enters grabbing for the tome and heads back out post haste. Once out with the tome Dagg hands it over to Pendleton.

Dagg is able to secure the leather tablet and passes it off to Pendleton. Dusting it off, the mage carefully opens the tome to discover that several pages have been torn out. The topmost page -- the only one with any writing on it -- is written in a language he is unfamiliar with. Dagg, whom had been observing, notices the message is written in his people's tongue -- dwarven. It simply reads:

"The tribesmen have discovered the secret entrance into the caverns below."

Pendleton's eyes light up when he is handed the tome. What sorts of ancient arcane lore might be contained inside? Long-lost spells of power? The historical annals of some forgotten civilization?

When he opens the book to see pages ripped out and only one line written his excitement visibly deflates. "Oh," he says after the line is translated. "Well, that's useful, I guess. We now know there are caverns under the areas where the tribesmen live. And we know someone else was watching them—probably dwarves. I wonder if the observers are still around somewhere?" Pentleton perks up as he realizes that the tome still contains clues and mysteries. He turns the book over in his hands. How old does it seem to be?

All you found was a book? Did you see anything else? Perhaps another tunnel leading underground?

"Old, not ancient," Pendleton muses. "Odd that someone should pull out so many pages. I wonder what was on them?"

"Well, shall we go back and see if we can somehow communicate with the tribesmen and search for the secret entrance there? Or should we investigate the swampy building?"

"When you have a thing you don't want to do, better to do it now than later," Siirist mutters quietly, eyeing the structure in the swamp.

He looks down at his stomach, checking the bandage, and winces at the red splotching he sees there.

Is there a limit to the number of times a wound can be treated with a first aid kit? If not:

"One moment," says Pendleton, noticing that the elf is still wounded. He applies a first aid kit.

First aid: [1d2+1] = 2+1 = 3

No, no limit. Figure the kit contains bandages and wraps and ointments or jellies which can be applied multiple times. Just please keep track of how many total hit points the kit has cured (or how many hit points are remaining; e.g. 05/10). Thanks!
Pendleton takes a moment to tend to Siirist's wounds.

"I was countin' on that book saying 'Put your feet up. Enjoy some pipeweed. Quaff an ale or two.' Guess that was askin' too much. Ain't nothing good what lives in a swamp, though. Lived near one since the day I was born. Don't miss 'em."

Bingus looks apprehensive.

If the swamp building, please provide ending cell numbers. If returning to the small southern building with the tunnel, I'll provide a new map.

"I doubt the secret entrance would be in the swamp building," says Pendleton. "Any caverns there would likely be flooded. I would suggest we start in the small building in the south. If we can't find the entrance there, we can come back to the swamp building."
