Breathing heavily, Ciar plops down on the ground after the bear disappears.

"Where's that wand?" he calls out, pressing his hand to his largest wound to try and staunch the bleeding.

"Man that was close!" says Kassal standing by the injured halfling.

He will keep guard until the scout is healed.

Sparrow just shakes his head at the Druids death blow.

I hope I had him softened up enough for you, he says to Sylvan, only half sarcastically.

He then picks up the bear rug and drapes it over his head. He goes around the room to each of his party members shouting Grrrrrrr! Grrrrrrr! at them, trying to lighten the mood and put smiles on the faces of the wounded as they are getting their healing.

He then drops the bearskin and resumes his initial action of investigating the tub.

"A tough beastie indeed. Safe passage my friend , ye fought bravely."

The dwarf clasps his hands to his axe and bows his head in salute.

"Now surely he was guarding summit worth aving."

Grim takes a good look at all the furniture around the room before deciding where to start searching.

Sylvan's jaw drops as the bear disappears. "How did that happen?" he wonders aloud, clearly not savoring the death - and disappearance - of the bear.

Remembering the injured hobbit, Sylvan seeks him out and administers healing with the wand.
How's that, Ciar? Need another?
If not, Sylvan will poke around under the bear rug.

"Actually, yeah, I could use another. That potion I bought off the priest the other day wasn't very effective..."

Once Sylvan uses the want on him a second time, Ciar goes back to examining the desk.

Sylvan shrugs and places the wand on his wound again, moving his lips in a silent prayer.

The bear now vanished, the group is able to survey their situation. Ciar and Grim are both heavily wounded, with Fulp fairly scratched up as well. Sylvan and Sparrow look to have light wounds remaining, and Kassal appears to be at full strength.

Breathing heavily, Ciar plops down on the ground after the bear disappears. "Where's that wand?" he calls out, pressing his hand to his largest wound to try and staunch the bleeding as Kassal watches over him. After wondering aloud how the bear disappeared, Sylvan answers the halfling's call, and applies two charges of the wand. Ciar, still appearing to be at half strength, moves to the desk and begins a thorough examination of it and its contents.

Sparrow just shakes his head at the druids death blow. "I'm glad I was able to soften him up for you," he half-jokes, before picking up the bear rug and draping it over his head and playfully growling at each of his party members before discarding the rug and moving to search the tub, finding it to be simply what it appears -- an elaborate tub made of rich marble. Sylvan, intent on searching beneath the rug, takes advantage of Sparrow's removal of it to notice... nothing unusual.

"A tough beastie indeed. Safe passage my friend , ye fought bravely." Grim says to the absent bear, clasping his hands to his axe and bowing his head in salute. "Now surely he was guarding summit worth aving," the dwarf says, scanning the room, taking in their surroundings, trying to decide where to start his search. The dwarf notices three armoires and three tall wardrobes, a canopied bed with a nightstand and a large locked chest at its foot, a writing desk and chair, and an elaborate marble tub.

Sparrow knows that wizards are good with doing things magically. He searches all around the tub, wondering if there is any special mechanism that fills the thing with warm water.

This can't be just a normal tub that has to be filled by a bucket, can it?

If he finds nothing, he gives up and goes to look in the nightstand by the bed.

"You're a stoic one, aren't you Grim?" asks Sylvan with little humor. He pulls out the wand, still warm from recent healings, and administers to Grim.

"With all that you're wearing, make sure to ask for help. I can't always tell when you need it." he chides gently.
He looks around to the group. "How do you all feel? I'm out of magic, except the wand of course. I could use a hot meal. Besides, I think our friend Hunclay is getting bloated out in that sun."

"We should perhaps retire for some rest. Tomorrow I can come back with the spell of revealing and see what the warding sigils suggest." says the gnomish wizard in agreement with the aspirant.

To Sylvan:
"Aye tis but a scratch but may thanks for the healing"
Then more quietly.
"Thanks me lad, I was in need."

He surveys the room then announces:

"I am happy to stay or retire."
He winces as he slowly ambles around the room

Fulp says
What about the missing servants? If we leave now they have time to arm more traps and such. Plus hide any clues.

Also what about any valuables? They ours or theirs?

"I'm still hurting. In fact, I wouldn't mind another hit of the wand. But even without it, I'm not ready to give up just yet for today. Short of a bunch of food and wine and some locked chests, we haven't found anything worth much yet. Obviously, that just means we haven't looked hard enough..."

Ciar begins examining something he found in the desk, comparing it to the front of the chest.

Sparrow looks up from the nightstand.

Im ok. Nothing a good nights rest can't heal.

I'm for sticking around in here until we actually find something too. Unless we run into more bears that is.

He continues looking through the nightstand.

While some mentally check out and ready themselves to return to town for a night of rest, Ciar and Sparrow continue to search the master bed chamber, with the halfling moving from the writing desk to the locked chest; and Sparrow moving from the tub to the nightstand.

Ciar is seen fiddling with the lock on the chest and, after determining it to be safe, cracks it open and reveals that it is filled with gold coins and a small sack, which contains a dozen precious gemstones which you guess to be aquamarine based upon their light blue color.

Ciar pockets the bag of gems and says,"I'll get these evaluated for value so we can properly split them. Personally, I'll take stones over coins for a share of the treasure."

"Now that I found a set of keys that appears to work, I'll go check the chest in the other room."

Ciar does just that.
