This sounds viable.

Ty doesn't have Dip or Intim for this sort of thing...

If this is the plan, feel free to formally attempt it in the action thread.

I would have, normally, but you clipped out the part where I indicated others had better chances of directing the course of action with appropriately applied skills Ty does not have. :)

Well, in my defense, my comment wasn't directed at any one player, but the group as a whole.

Ha! No, you're good. I haven't been able to get online to update any of my games until a few moments ago.

Alright guys...if Petras "silver tongue" doesn't get him talking I'll do something only a girl with 18 charimsa can do and distract him while you all pile on and subdue.

There isn't an actual candle.

He is casting a 'dancing lights' spell to mimic the light a candle, or lantern would produce.

Is there not a candle sitting on the table then?

Today is my first day at a new position (at the same company). Not sure yet what the impact will be on US forum posting, but most likely it will be "less posting during normal work hours" for some time.

I should still be good for the required posting rate, though it will probably be later in the day or evening hours.

Yes, definitely a positive move for me. After spending some 10 years being on the tail end of software releases (where documentation is an after-thought much of the time), I've decided to completely shift gears and moving into UX (Usability).

Should give me lots of room to flex some mental synapses I haven't used in a long time and will be a fiscal benefit as well. Not immediately, unfortunately, but I capped out my pay scale as a senior technical communications specialist about three years ago. Now I'm in a different pay group, so I can start getting raises again.

A little bit of travel will be necessary, but shouldn't be too bad.

Seriously, though, hope all is OK.
This quote is from one of my other games, but it was the first I noticed and didn't want to repeat myself so I'll paste it, and my response here as well.

All is good. I do need to admit that keeping up with three high-paced games during the week is pretty, so I've started to completely stay off the board over the weekends. I meant to check in yesterday, but.. well... didn't. I will work on catching up in all my games tonight and tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay.

In other news, while it's no longer my edition of choice, I was super excited when this e-mail came in an hour ago: D&D Players Handbook (1e) now available in PDF!

Correct, there was never a candle. Plutivarch cast the spell to create the illusion of one.

In regards to there being an actual table... sure. Most everything in the inn is old, and broken, but I'm guessing there's at least one table in the office area that has stood the test of time.
