The Long Route, Day 1

You leave the safety and comfort of Loge Thanos behind and begin the journey east, following the Long Route to Lantica, towards the northern edge of the Gam’A Zone.


The Long Route, Day 1-8

The first leg of the route travels through the Gugas Scrublands, which is a mixture of grasslands, swamps and arid scrub brush plains. The well-worn and rutted road meanders gently through the wilderness and shows signs of heavy use, but none too recent. The occasional sights and sounds, both night and day, never amount to anything, but you stay on guard and avoid becoming complacent.

The Long Route, Day 8

Well past noon on the 8th day of travel, a commotion in the deep grass fields becomes more of a concern when it spreads over a larger area in your field of view. The relatively flat land doesn’t allow clear visibility of the source making the grass sway, but you pause and determine that the movement is around 200 or so feet away from your position on the road. Some of you think you hear a faint "clicking" sound on the light wind.

Frekken Ribbitowicz, MA Frog

Startled, Frekken drops to all fours, keeping his belly low to the ground. "What was that?" he whispers nervously. "Did it see us?"

Frank Rock; Veteran Human


Frank drops to one knee and in the direction he thinks the 'clicking' noise is coming from; he'll quickly shift to look in that direction with a quick, fluid motion to bring a nocked arrow to his bow and search that direction for any signs of activity.....

Jack crouches down low and takes out his firearm "Holly heck is someone cocking a gun at us?"

Cthul Hand Luke, mutant human

Luke kneels low, rifle aimed out at the grasslands, ready to take a long shot.

"Can anyone get us a look see from on high?"

Oor-Zak, MA Gorilla

Oor-Zak drops onto three limbs and makes a short charge in the direction of the commoction, brandishing his axe and showing his teeth in a show of hotility towards whatever may be out there. After the display he will sniff the wind to see if he can detect anything.

Bart, MH

Bart readies his shield and axe. He begins clicking matching click for click.

Blixx MH

"Bugs, I really hate bugs. Blixx whispers" Blixx crouches down, and tries to "listen" his antennae quiver as he attempts to pick up any mental powers within his range (90') and will slowly ready his flintlock.

Blixx could fly upward and scout but... this would also remove any cover and concealment "he" might have. "Measure twice, cut once"

The Long Route, Day 8

Everyone assumes a defensive posture while collectively trying to determine the source of the disturbance.

- Bart’s echolocation is able to discern eight creatures moving towards your position on the road. They are about 3-4 ft. long, moving low in the grass on several legs.

- Blixx' attempt at mental power detection draws a blank.

- Oor-zak catches a whiff of a putrid odor on the wind.

No one else sees or hears anything beyond the initial disturbance, which continues moving towards you.

Assuming a defensive posture allows you to delay any actions until the creatures are visible, which will be about 30ft. away, when they presumably clear the grass line and enter the roadway clearing.

Or…you may move in any direction at your maximum movement before they clear the grass line.

OOr-Zak, MA gorilla

Oor-zak snuffs a blast of air from his nostrils and shakes his head, trying to clear his sense of smell of the putrid odor. "Bad smell on wind. Oor-Zak think bad thing coming." Shifting his axe to one of his tentacles, he grips one of his spears, readyin git for action.

Frank Rock, Veteran Human


Frank shifts back a bit, aiming at the edge of the grass line with his bow drawn and arrow ready to loose. "Blixx, think you can fly a bit and see what you can and report back to us?"; Frank asks gruffy and quietly....

Jack remains quiet takes in the news and gets ready to fire his crossbow aiming for the glass line same as Frank Rock.

Bart, MH

Bart position himself out front of the group kneels on one knee and plants his shield in the ground, axe at the ready.

"Do you want me to fly up for a quick look, the sun's a bit of a b!#$%, right now!" Blixx Whispers He ready's his flintlock and takes a knee.

"Ghost in The Darkness" anyone? LoL

Frekken Ribbitowicz, MA Frog

"Yipe!" Frekken squeaks, and leaps into the grass on the opposite side of the road. It looks as if he's fleeing potential battle, but he silently draws back his bow ready to snipe at any attacking beasts...

The Long Route, Day 8

Eight large, black beetles clear the grass and enter the road clearing.
