Only thing lying right near the entrance is bodies of unconscious orcs. On the other side of the building there's plenty of rubble that could be moved, but it would take some time.

I dug into my character sheet PMs, and Jem has some oil. He's closest, so he might be the best one to toss some oil at the entrance this round. If it hits, then we need a torch to light it. Assuming no one is carrying a lit torch in the daytime, maybe someone else near the door should get a torch ready? With enough flasks of oil to keep the fire going, we should be able to make the orcs take some damage on the way out.

My stupid dwarf has flint and steel for lighting campfires. No torches. Adrienne might have some? Or Remus? He does have 2 flasks of oil he can throw if he can get this damned dog off. Down, boy!

Once Orrin is done with the pooch, he goes to melee range just to one side of the door, taking on orcs as they come through. Jem backs off and continues to throw oil to keep the fire going. Adrienne torches the doorway, and then can protect Jem (we'll need him) and/or Melee if necessary. Remus and Lug shoot until we are swarmed, at which point Naila pops the spell. Then we see where we are at.

No one is close enough to actually attack the dog this round. Either Jem or Adrienne could rush forward and be able to attack next round, however--but not if they're doing something else fire-related.
No one apart from them could join the melee next round. Lug and Remus have two rounds of movement to get to the dog. Naila would have three if she didn't cast in the meantime, four if she casts during that time.

It's not good enough to hold off three dozen orcs.
His AC is a couple of notches worse than Orrin's, and he has fewer HP...if he's fresh. Come to think of it, I need to check what Lug's current HP is. He took some damage then got healed in the centaur's grove. Did he heal any more on the way out? Jem would have had a healing spell or two he could have used on Lug, right?

No healing since then, since it's the same day you left the grove. I believe you were missing 5.

Then Lug is even more strongly in favor of setting fire to the entrance, killing the dog, and running away.
He might even shoot an arrow at the dog to "help" Orrin.

That creates a quasi-philosophical question: if you do shoot, would the bow prevent you from hitting Orrin, or would the bowstring break if you accidentally struck him?

I'd guess it only breaks if intended to hit a friendly. Stray arrows shouldn't count. But let's find out!

Remus will continue to run over towards the building, when he is in range he will train his crossbow on any orc not passed out cold and let loose before reloading again.

Please note that in general if you roll during a round and the roll isn't used, you re-roll the next round.
