If nobody else offers up any other sacks, Bog grabs the one from Calevanna and dives back down and fills it with coins.

~ The soothing, repetitive lapping of waves in the watery cave is interrupted by the arrival of Bogdan and his large sacks full of underwater island treasure...

The big fighter deposits the first large sack of coins on the rock ledge and dives back down to recover the second one. He surfaces and sets it on the ledge as well before querying his remaining party members holding station there for another sack or container to gather the remaining coins below.

Caelvanna sets down her bow and arrow long enough to retrieve and hand over a small sack. Not receiving a response from Ulrich or Lauranna, the half-orc salvage diver heads back down to fill that up as well. Another few minutes pass slowly as he continues with the underwater treasure-recovery operation...

~ The party members topside remain on high alert whilst their fellow island explorers grab up as much of the underwater loot as they can...

The lulling melody of the slow, lapping waves within the coastal cave is shattered by the emergence of the druidess! She scampers up to her feet and steps out of the way with purpose, setting a mostly full sack of coin on the rock ledge and then spinning about to check on her fellow diver...

A segment's time later, Bogdan erupts from the underwater opening and scrambles to his feet with a quickness. The party is back together again!

Emm throws down the bag of coin and whips around, spear pointed directly at the pool, waiting for Bog to follow her, and possibly something else to follow him. Without glancing back, she barks: Any new word from our crying "friend?" She backs up considerably when the big Half-Orc bursts to the surface, wanting to give way for his quick exit, but remains eyes (and spear) fixed on the pool.

Bog clears the surface, climbs out, and he, too, turns and points his spear at the opening.

"Something was down there."

"Let's get out of here. We've done enough." Lauranna holds her sword and grabs a bag.

As long as nothing immediately surfaces, Bog takes a moment to don his armour before grabbing a bag and indicating he is ready to leave, as well.

Caelvanna watches as Emm and Bog emerge from the pool of water, and listens as they communicate an unknown creature within its depths. She shifts her position as necessary to maintain a clear line of fire into the pool opening, but is content to provide cover for her companions as they exit and doesn't immediately leave her perched position.

~ With all party members present and accounted for, and as much of the submerged coin treasure recovered from the former crab den as they have means to carry it by, the island explorers prepare to depart the watery coastal cave with their haul...

Bogdan and Emm's quick exit from the submerged chamber and subsequent leveling of their spears at the underwater opening below is eventually clarified by the big fighter's announcement that there was something else down there. To theirs and the others' relief, no giant crabs, fish or nightmare water leviathans issue forth in response to challenge them.

Still keeping her eyes and weapon trained on the underwater opening, Emm asks about the thing that they encountered back at the cave-in. Neither Caelvanna, Ulrich nor Lauranna confirm any further noises or contact. Bog moves over to the ledge to begin donning his armor while the Wild elf archer peers down in the water in hope of an aquatic target of opportunity.


~ So nothing arrives via the underwater opening to confront the party nor rounds the corner further in to approach them. Bogdan gets his armor back on and reequips his remaining gear and weapons. Lauranna moves over to pick up the small sack of coin in her free hand and suggests they head out. Bog nods that he's ready to do so as well. Caelvanna wordlessly indicates that she'll cover the others when they depart the watery cave.

~ With all three sacks of coin treasure in tow, the party departs the watery cave...

Bogdan heads out to lead the others back to camp. Ulrich, Emm and Lauranna drop in behind him, thankful to be doing so. Caelvanna remains in rearguard and keeps her fingers on her bowstring trigger to cover the party's exit.

The small group of island explorers step over and around the second giant crab they dispatched previously just inside the entrance and breach the opening of the watery cave to arrive back outside in the warm, inviting rays of golden sunlight, chirping of birds and buzzing of island insects. The still-morning light is bright and welcoming, and nearly brings a tear of joy and relief to Emm's eyes. Ulrich extinguishes his torch as the druidess asks the others what they should do with the dead crustacean. Bog suggests that since they lack any means to return with the massive creature, they dispatch some of the crew with the raft to recover it when they arrive back at camp.


~ So the party climbs out of the shallows at the cave entrance and back onto solid ground. Lauranna offers her thoughts about the thing she encountered past the cave in, still feeling goosebumps and a somewhat healthy uncertainty over what exactly she saw. No one responds to the High elf but everyone else considers the episode and source of the varied whimpering. With Bogdan leading the way, they proceed to follow the path leading up to the small meadow and start heading east towards the intersection with the northern trail...
