Chapter:1 Home sweet Gnome!

[Synthalus]

The Party is teleported to the Gnomish City of Gnome Vale amongst the great northern mountains in late spring by the wizard college chaperon known as Sotha Sil.

Zendur Gravelbeard Sturdy enough a dwarf with an eye patch over his left eye dressed in dwarf chain armor and carrying a battle axe. Looks around "Not of dwarf craft but still a fine gnome crafted place. My cousins doing as they do all over the place. A dwarf welcome in these halls. A sight for sore eye." the dwarf proclaims in his manner of showing his respect for the magnificence of the place.

SOTHA SIL

Sotha Sil Cast's a Teleport on the group.
Sotha addresses the group Upon arrival

Welcome to the City of Gnome Vale! I have been informed the Wizards College has purchased us food and board at the Balding Platypus Inn for the duration of our expedition. It is located here in the Foreign Quarter of Gnome Vale just over there. ( Sotha points towards a human sized building with a sign hanging from its door of a Bald Platypus sitting on top of a rock in the middle of a river.) The Gnomish High Council has informed me that our company will have free range of the city except for only a handful of locations. the following locations are off limits to us.
1. City Vaults
2. High Quarter
3. Elite Quarter
4. City Crypts
5. Fungus Farm / Livestock Pens
Further more as soon as everyone is checked into their rooms and ready to begin, I will be located in the Bald Platypus Taproom. Please come and find me at your earliest convenience. Gentleman and ladies we are adjourned here I shall see you later.

With that Sotha Sil takes his leave of the group and walks towards the Balding Platypus Inn.

Zendur Gravelbeard waits until the mage has left "We'll see about what is off limits. Perhaps my cousins would allow one closer to their ilk into such places. But really why would I want to go to the crypts anyways."

[Dram]

Saphjawx- My goddess must be testing me. Well I'm going to prove my worth to her. As he looks over the Dwarf to see what kind of reaction he receives when the dwarf notices him. He will then stick his hand out to the Dwarf.I am Saphjawx very glad to meet you. I hope we can be friends.

Zendur gives the drow an odd look "Why you acting like we never met? Don't you remember the mage interviewed us all and apparently we all were able to tolerate each other that's why we're here." but the dwarf shakes his hand none the less.

A RANDOM GNOME SOLICITOR

Walk's up to the Dwarf and Drow casual as a cat

" Couldn't elp but notice you chaps appearing out of no were's with that their human wizard feller! I says to me self those two look like the type's that can afford a fancy bauble or two, am I right!

Random Gnome Solicitor nudges the dwarf with his elbow a couples of times while grinning like a hyena.

" I might know a place where a man could get one of those fancy endings after a good massage if'n use gents might be interested in Going? I'd be much obliged to show you the way for a Silver coin or two?

Zendur gives the gnome a strange look then back to the drow in thieves cant "I think this one has something wrong with him." then back to the gnome "I think yer a bit mistaken were here for something else."

RANDOM GNOME SOLICITOR

The Gnome Solicitor chuckles in what seems like blind ignorance and says;

"Guess'n you don't fancy gnomish lass's then, there's plenty of gnomish man there if that's your like? If not could I interest one of your lordships in buying this here treasure map that I found? I'll sell it to you real cheap I will, 5 Silver coins and its yours! What do you says?

The Gnome appears to have one of his hands behind his back when he addresses the party this time.

Zendur "Show me a good pub and you can have the 5 silvers." the dwarf says to the gnome.

[Synthalus]

RANDOM GNOME SOLICITOR

" Oh that's easy your lordship, why didn't you say so earlier? That would be the........Thirsty........ Drider.

The Gnome pauses for a second before finishing his sentence as he realizes the elf is in fact a Drow. The color in his face seems to bleed out leaving it stark white.

Stefan, having remained silent for the arrival of the gnome, spits on the floor.

"I wouldn't give him anything for that Zendur, I spotted that inn on the way in and was about to suggest it. Have we had enough of this one now?"

Zendur laughs at the gnome "Fraid of somethin there lad?" he belows and does not pay the gnome for information he did not need.

[Synthalus]

UNSEEN SERVANT

As the party is being hassled by a commoner for pocket change an Unseen Servant drifts up to the group carrying what seems to be a magic mouth cast onto a common peace of paper. The unseen servant holds the parchment open for all to see and hear. Then voice of Sotha Sil Speaks from the magic mouth and says.

" If anyone would care to have a drink and discuss the business at hand I have taken the liberty of ordering Three pitchers of spiced gnomish ale? It awaits you at the Inn as do I..... "

[Nordbo]

Thurgot Bolt

glides up next to the group: "May you all be reborn", signs a circle, and waits calmly.

Zendur gives Thurgot a very strange look "I've already been born once and I don't want to relive that experience."

[Nordbo]

Thurgot

to Zendur: "Be patient, friend. Your curiosity will awaken.....As has mine: who are you all good folks, and what does þis speaking letter ask of you ?"

Zendur looks like he is having a flash back to his birth "All the dwarf hair, cursing, various fluids. Then a dwarf cleric slapped me bum and I punched him in the nose. Me dad was so proud." then he shudders and shakes a but and is back to reality. "Bah mages and their tricks. Shall we go to the inn or take care of our own business before jumping to the whims of Sotha Sil?" the dwarf asks the entire group.

[Dram]

Saphjawx- Oh it is you Zendur. My apologies. I did not recognize you at first. Yes we should go to the inn

[Synthalus]

NARRATOR

After all party members have had a chance to stretch their legs and get familiar with the brightly lit gnomish foreign quarter the party convenes to the Taproom of the Balding Platypus to drinks and instructions from the Mage Sotha Sil.

As the party enters the Balding Platypus they are greeted by a young wood elf lass who introduces herself Elsa and shoes them to their rooms. Each member gets his own stately room and after some time meets up in the Taproom located in the front most section of the first floor.

There Sotha Sil sits with a Burly gnomish fighter named Heinrick Gustoffson who quickly introduces himself to the group as the City guard captain.
