7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Ismark winces with pain on hearing that only the two of you escaped the castle. "If you are the only survivors, then that Devil Strahd has Ireena." He stares at the floor and shakes his head, trying to contain his grief. "Oh, Ireena! I should never had let you run off with those fool adventurers. But you weren't safe here either. Still. I...I..."
He looks up, as if noticing you for the first time. "Yes, we should talk," he decides. "But not now, not with darkness approaching. Come back tomorrow morning." He shuts the door.
From the other side of the closed door, you hear sobbing.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
"Well then there is only one way to go. Let's get to one of those ramshackle shops and hope for the best," the gnome says urgently and scuttles off through the darkening town to one with an upstairs and an intact roof.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Bragar- I am really not liking this place. I think if we live thru the night we should try to get out of village and head find the king of this land. He could help us gain the kind of adventurers we need to fight this devil.

Date: Nouluna 6, 1221
Time: 4:45 PM
Weather: Light rain
Moon: Waning gibbous
Location: Borovia, Outside Ismark's House
**************************************
You set off to make camp in an abandoned and gutted old shop rather than pay the gypsies' exorbitant fees for lodging. Castran sets his warning stones at the entrance and climbs up rickety stairs.
As you dine on cold field rations, it occurs to you that for the Blood on the Vine Tavern's many failings as both a tavern and a lodging place, the accommodations did at least include food.
Status: Bragar: 21/42, Castran: 20/23
Effects: None

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
so it bloody should have, those chuffing robbers!
"Can you set a glyph of warding around us carefully Bragar?" asks the gnome once the rations are eaten.
He will cast his invisibility spell over himself and offer to take the first watch. If Bragar is amenable the gnome suggests that he use his Phantasmal force spell to conceal the dwarf behind an illusion whilst creating the two of their forms across the chamber.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
"If you can see your way to casting a final healing spell to cure me good Bragar I would recommend you getting some sleep if you can to replenish your magic whilst I keep watch over night! If we are attacked hopefully my magic trick will give you time to waken and with the warding stones and the glyph around us we should be safe from surprise I hope. If you can get your rest and regain your magic then I can rest in the morning once the sun, such as it is, has risen, my magic takes less time to recover. Then I can perhaps shroud you in invisibility also tomorrow. "
The gnome looks to see what Bragar thinks of the plan or if he has any further suggestions or changes he would like to make.
The gnome will also see if there is anywhere within the upstairs of the shop that he can climb to to be even further out of harms way, any large rafters or such like.
If the dwarf is agreeable about healing him further the invisible gnome will place his hand upon Bragars chest to indicate where he is.

Bragar- Yes let's heal our wounds. He prays to Haela Brightaxe for her strength and guidance. He casts the spells to heal his friend. I believe this mist is keeping my prayers from being heard clearly to my goddess.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Are those both for Castran? Note that Castran is at 20/23, while Bragar is at 21/42.
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
It would make sense that once Castran felt his wounds comlletely heal he would say so and Bragar could then heal himself.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
That's mighty generous of Castran. "My left arm is still a little stiff. Go ahead and fix that, would you? Then feel free to do something about that bleeding hole in your shoulder."
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Without so much G.
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Yes both healing spells are for Castran. I was saving the last one for a emergency. Do we regain any health during sleep.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
I don't understand. Castran is only 3 HP down, and either of the spells heals him to full. Why cast a second one on him?
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Last chance not to waste a healing spell on someone healed to full...

I was unaware of that. His above statement made it sound like he was hurt pretty good. The second spell will not be used.

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
I include a status line in most updates showing how many HP everyone has. Bragar is pretty beat up; Castran is down only 3 HP. He's basically reached hypochondriac status at this point.
