Re: Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
Just a heads-up, everyone. I am taking my family on vacation and will be AFK from June 11-20. I'll have my phone with me, but I'm not sure it will work well in Iceland, and I won't have my computer with me so much of my game information will be inaccessible. Please plan for a near halt in activities during that time.
Thanks for playing!

Have fun! I can either NPC Hyde (I'll need some default actions in the private forum) or he can hang out in Alleborg. You'll likely miss out on some action after you're back from vacation, but it's up to you (you can also venture forth on your own, too).tkrexx wrote:Actually, that works well. I should have net access on my phone (and be able to pretty much keep up with things), but I may need you to make some rolls for me. For whatever reason, it doesn't support the dice-roller here.

I'm traveling this week and will be slow or absent. Happy with whatever venture so long as we venture.

Re: Hear Ye, Hear Ye!
I want to clarify how double/triple damage is determined (and announce a slight change). I've always applied 2x/3x damage before adjustments for STR and magical weapon bonus. This will continue. What will change is how the 2x/3x is determined. If a player scores a double damage crit hit, it will be applied as [2d6], not [1d6]x2.
Why? It's rare to get a crit hit, and very annoying when the base damage roll is a 1. It also reduces the risk of a fully healthy player getting cut down by a crappy goblin who scores 3x and rolls a 6 on a 1d6.
For example, a PC hits an enemy with a crossbow and scores a crit hit for triple damage. How is damage determined?
Old way: ([1d4]+1)x3
New way: [3d4]+3
For a sword:
Old way: [1d8]x3
New way: [3d8]
Sound good?

That's my preferred method when using damage multipliers for crits as well. Works for me!

We are in the middle of moving - apologies in advance if my posting is inadequate in either length or frequency! Feel free to hand wave me through something if I've dropped the ball over the next few days.

Near enough, yep. 90 minutes out of town in a small village. Much closer to my wife's work and one of the grandmothers. Keeping our home here and renting it out.
Renovating 2 houses, moving, finding tenants, and a new phase starting up with my work, all at once.
Peak Stress has been achieved.

Wow, I don't envy your workload, Brother. Still, I believe you'll enjoy living in a small town more than the big burg.

Yeah, maybe if Arnulf wasn't around that would be a little less stress.
Seriously, though, good luck with keeping all those balls in the air!
