The Lone City in the Wildlands - OSRIC/AD&D 1e sandbox[open]

OK, The Lone City in the Wildlands is on!
Hi,
There are a couple of excellent sandbox campaigns going on right now on the Unseen Servant. I'm posting to see if there's interest in another sandbox, based on OSRIC (AD&D 1e clone) rules. The basic premise is this:
You’ve lived your entire life within a few miles of the city of Alleborg, a relic of the ruined Masmurian Empire. Or at least, you’ve been there since the traitor king fled several decades ago. The Council runs the city state now. Their Guards of Alleborg have managed to maintain enough of a buffer around the city to provide for their needs, but little contact has been maintained with the outside world. The Guards are never bored for long. Dangers abound from all directions, and the raids from humanoids on farmers and livestock at the edge of The Perimeter have seemed to increase over the last few months. It is under this backdrop that you see this notice posted:
“Men and women wanted to form small parties for exploration outside The Perimeter. No wages. Hazardous training provided. Constant danger. Safe return doubtful. Honor, recognition and possible wealth in case of success.”
***********
I will shamelessly steal a couple of concepts from the excellent games that are being run.
1) Private forums - I've enjoyed dmw71's approach of using private forums. It increases the feeling of exploration, and makes it easier for characters to reveal only what they want to
2) Keehnelf's The West Marches Approach - I had heard of this before, and keehnelf has implemented it with resounding success. Alleborg will serve as the jumping-off point for mini-adventures (at least at the start). There are several advantages to this, the biggest being that when IRL issues get in the way of playing, a character can go on hiatus instead of holding up the whole party.
Other notes:
- This game wouldn't kick off until just after Christmas.
- It will be a sandbox, but there will be a railroad only at the beginning. It'll be high risk, high reward. Players have the option to bypass this if they want.
- I hope to have a post a day frequency on weekdays
- There will be some house rules. Some notable ones include:
Substitution of the monk class for the assassin class
Critical hits/fumbles will be used according to the method found here (with some adjustments) - http://www.epicwords.com/attachments/9232. as players increase in ability, the likelihood of a critical hit increases while fumbles decrease.
Please let me know if there's interest, or you have questions.
