Re: Briarbeard Tavern (Vaul) - II
Orrin won. The contest was total number of drinks without going over the time limit per drink. Martin and Kennit were pretty impressive as well. I like the fact that we took up 10 pages in the thread devoted to almost nothing but the drinking contest. This had to be the busiest night Ghrym has ever had in the tavern!
Now, who is drinking wine with Dorvar? Doesn't have to be competitors, spectators can feel free to take part in the first round. Anything beyond that and you're on your own tab. Anyone up for a post-drinking contest nightcap? Don't tell me you guys don't want anymore alcohol!

Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Olympia, having bowed out of the contest early and unspectacularly, eagerly continues to drink with Dorvar. "To Orrin the Light-Hammer!" she toasts politely, raising her goblet in one hand and her warhammer in the other. She regards the drinking champion with respect for his accomplishment, but some suspicion from how he treated the Wendall...

Wendall wishes he could spend some time in the tavern, bonding with his drunken friends, but it's a little hazardous for him in there at the moment. He can be seen wandering the grounds, kicking dirt around with his head hung low, feeling rather sorry for himself. And to think.....all he really wanted was some milk.

Kennit will have a drink of wine, though he'll be drinking it slowly.
He'll raise his glass to the winner, though he's not sure he could identify who the actual winner is at this moment.

The night passes with much revelry and merry-making for those in attendance.
Those who finished with fewer than 10 completed drinks can crawl out of bed to join Harrowing at 10am. Those with more than 10 miss the entire morning and can join at noon.

Was there a prize for the contest, besides "Biggest Hangover?"

I think Varas offered to buy a song about the winner, and will provide access to his house once it's built.

For the record and before Varas gets here, I believe I suggested the song. Varas was offering to pay for the drinks and the winner could stay in his house when it is finally built.

Oh wait, I got it. Varas and Wendall are mates, which won't sit well with Orrin staying at Casa Varas...it's like a bloody soap opera up in here.

Who knows, by the time the house is actually built, things may settle down.

Orrin is a pretty reasonable guy... Except when he's been drinking!

April 1
Wendall enters the tavern early in the morning after the festival. He is looking to hire one of the Quills Quarry mercenaries to guard the workers he wants to bring out to his tower.

Varas stumbles back into the tavern. "Congraddulations, Orrrn. Your drink ah are on me."
He hands two silver to Ghrym.
"my Howsh will be ready in a coupla weeksh. Shee me then..."
He stumbles into common lodging and dreams a dream of horsies.
4sp deducted for ale, lodging and shrunken math

Day of the Harrowing Festival
Dorvar wanders down from his room around 10, feeling pretty chipper despite the drinking contest the previous evening. Immunity to alcohol poisoning for the win! What do ye have for breakfast this fine morn, Ghrym? Need sumthin' filling so I can check out this Harrowing festival here today. This should cover breakfast, plus my bar tab and room last night, he says, putting two gold pieces on the counter, then walks over to his seat.
