OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Actually, rescuing Copenhaver somehow, especially at night or in a dimly lit section of town or alley way he would use as a shortcut to his favorite coffee corner store, sounds good. I can envision a conversation taking place between the two and how Kevin would have to stand in the shadows with only a bit of his body showing and trying to mask his voice and keep his face hidden....
This would, of course, also have a little thought-bubble that would appear over Copenhaver's head as he wonders, thoughtfully, whether or not he recognized those sneakers or if his eyes are playing tricks on him....

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
That sounds like the core of a good scene to me

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
I'm off work the next two days so I'll get to finish my backlog of character images! Olympia and Sir Jonas (my new back-up in case gobs murder Olympia) from West Marches are first, but I've already got the pencils down for Heatseeker

Waaaa, awesome!
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Going to do some book-keeping in the issue thread and let the story speak for itself in terms of the outcome of our discussions.
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Thoughts requested: should I set up a wiki for us all to use to add information on important events, places, and NPCs? I'm struggling with a good way to track what is known and what has been decided on for various NPCs as they make appearances, allowing you to incorporate your own thoughts and observations, without tons of odd backtracking as would be needed in this format for a thread of NPC listings (and also more user-friendly for you guys looking for something).
Let me know--if it's something you'd never employ, I'll just make a thread with sketchy information and we can just track info in our heads as we go.

Oh yes, I'd use a wiki quite a lot!

I've gone ahead and created an initial placeholder at

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
I have just read my Introduction, and it has my brain activity firing on all cylinders, but I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow before I type up anything.
I recall reading in another thread about the If/Then use of powers, and I think I'm going to make use of a Portal, at the very least, for some portion of this scene. Would you have me go ahead and type it up dramatically as this is the first scene and simply introduces me as a character, or would you like me to roll for its effects?

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Since this is the character introduction scene, there is very little story-wise at stake except for harm that could be done to your image of your character. So keep the use of powers slight and we can act as though they automatically work for now unless you want them to malfunction somehow! Just focus on story and drama
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Are we doing the meeting scene in civilian garb?
I assumed that we were, but then if things start going down, that could be a little tricky...

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
You can decide on how you'd like to handle it: would your character show for the meeting "exposed" with regard to this unknown? Or, if unmasked, would you have the costume on under regular clothes, or packed in a duffel just in case?
Totally your call how to do it!

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
FYI, I'm currently pondering what kind of hero to create. I've been geeked over The Flash TV show lately, so putting everything in super-speed is one possibility. Another would be to recreate one of my CoH characters, like Leopardman (super-speed tanker), or Captain Kangaroo (scrapper with kicking abilities). Or maybe I actually try to come up with something new.
It's tough not having dice rolls to guide me, y'know?

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
I'm loving Flash too, and seriously considered a speedster!
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Neither of the character so far are especially tough, or strong--those could be straightforward considerations, in addition to Kent's earlier comment about no high-speed travelers.
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Zhym and Odin, let me know if I can be of any assistance!
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
I wasn't planning on making a speedster particularly strong or tough, either. Here's what I had as draft attributes:
Fighting: 4
Coordination: 6
Force: 4
Reason: 2
Focus: 2
Appeal: 3
Endurance: 4
Knacks: ??
Powers: Super speed, ??, ???
Obviously, not really fleshed out yet.

Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Looks good so far. It makes an interesting set of characters to not have anyone who's specifically throwing tanks around or blowing up buildings with attacks that miss gives it a consistent "street-level" hero feel for now.
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
Okay, for Leopardman's powers, I'm thinking super speed, super leap, and I'm not sure what. Maybe a stealth or camouflage power?
Re: OOC Discussion/Rules Questions
stealth would be pretty good--or you could have claws!
