11,000 total posts! I think we passed it yesterday, or very early today, but just wanted to call it out and announce a prize: one free (near) TPK to a party of my choice!
I realize now I should have announced this earlier in the day, sorry.
Sorry all--wife's pneumonia and six big projects at work have really taken a toll on my time over the past week. She's in slow recovery but work continues apace. Expect routine but not as fast-paced updates from me until next week. (hopefully 1/day for each active thread)
As the adventurers begin to move out into new regions, I'm considering adopting something like what's laid out in the article below. Right now I'm just using region-specific random encounter tables that get gradually depopulated as certain things are eliminated or driven out, and repopulated as new things move in, but I'm curious as to folks' thoughts about the approach described. It might generally prove to make wandering monsters less dangerous, but I would probably roll more often (right now I do 3 rolls per day in less-explored areas, versus the 4-6+ daily that many games do for overland travel.
It's my birthday! (I always provide a fake birth date to websites by force of habit--I had crazy paranoid live-in-a-hut parents and it gave me some odd social tics). And Sepp Blatter resigned as head of FIFA! This is cause for celebration!
Each active character gets a small metal flask of Brew of Healing. If untouched, it can be swallowed in one draught for 1d6 HP of instant healing. It can also be drunk in a more measured way, providing one HP of healing per sip. Only one sip can be taken per round, and metered out in this way the flask contains five portions.

Did anyone else catch Sunday's episode of John Oliver's Last Week Tonight about FIFA and Blatter? I am not saying his show is responsible for the resignation, but the timing is awfully funny.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Happy Birthday Keehnelf and thanks for the present.

I've got a few years on you. You ain't seen nothin' yet. Just wait until 40. It's like the warranty expired and everything starts breaking down. Muhaha!
