Borsk's fur ripples with what might be characterized as terror as the meteorite slams into the station. Reaching out with the Force to calm his nerves he returns to his rebellion-trained military bearing and nods in the affirmative.

Clark nods to himself in satisfaction. "Good. Now, let's head for the Main Generator and Power Converter rooms which are just around the corner ((Rooms 14 & 15)). If we can destroy them, that'll take care of this place for good, including the Repeat Blaster and the Launch Rack in the Hangar Bay ((room 19)), then we can just waltz over there, grab the ships, and fly out of here."

Suskafoo turns to Clark with a quizzical look on his insectoid face and asks; "I believe we only need to destroy the Main Generators to ensure the destruction of the Shantipole Base hive-mate Clark; but we will need to be on the ships you mentioned before the detonation goes off; or else we will be 'taken care of for good' as well; will we not?"

The other Rebels nod in agreement and the motley crew carefully, but quickly move out into the tunnels and towards the main generator room; occasionally thrown off balance as meteorites pound the station. They pass a few panicked Imperial techs; who pay little attention to them as they scramble too and fro and wonder aloud about what is happening and why....

The Rebel band moves into the main generator room and immediately notice the large Boron Power Generator that dominates the room; along with a pair of small computer stations and a large Power pipe conduit flowing from the generator to the other rooms in the asteroid complex. The Rebels quickly take out the detonite charges and someone* takes charge of setting the explosives and timing fuses while the others stand guard. Shortly after this activity begins a patrol of four Stormtroopers sweeps into the room and noticing the activity; they quickly snap up their Blaster Carbines and call out; "Halt! Step away from the Generator immediately and put your hands up!"...

*Suskafoo cannot set the charges as this is a bit much for his pacifistic nature; as for the rest of you; Everyone except Borsk basically has 3D in the Demolitions skill (La'Reth has only 2D); so somebody choose to be the Explosives guy; and as a kindly GM suggestion; this might not be a bad place to spend a Force Point! :)

Gavin tries to duck off behind anything that might serve a shield from the blaster.

"If we destroy the Power Converter, will that neutralise the Repeat Blaster and the Launch Rack in the hangar without blowing us all up too early?" Clark asks Suskafoo. "Or, can we also disable the Power Generator before we make our escape to shut down the Blaster and the Rack, setting the fuse to blow it up completely after we're gone?"

Clark took it upon himself to set up the demolition charges on the Power Generator. Upon the advent of the Storm Troopers, he steps away from the charges... and pulls his blaster, firing quickly!

Borsk curses a traditional Bothan greeting at the storm troopers and lets loose a few shots from his stun blaster and then ducks behind the nearest obstacle for cover.

The Rebel band bursts into activity as the 4 Stormtroopers enter the room and call for them to throw up their hands….

Gavin and Suskafoo dive for cover and the former notices a blaster bolt zip past fairly close as he rolls behind a bank of computer displays which should serve as some decent cover. Suskafoo lies prone behind a desk, curled into a ball of fear…

Clark finishes setting the detonite charges and in a motion that would make the fastest blaster gunhands in the galaxy proud; he yanks his Blaster clear of its holster in one smooth motion and deftly places a blot straight into the center chest of a Stormtrooper and blows him off his feet. A return shot from another Stormtrooper grazes the Professor; but other than a slight burn across his upper left thigh; he suffers no ill effects from the shot….

Borsk La'Reth fires some wild shots with his stun blaster that don't come anywhere close to hitting any of the three still standing Stormtroopers and he then scrambles for cover; just barely avoiding catching a blaster bolt that streaks past his face, missing by less than half a meter…

Zinn stands a bit stunned at the sudden turn of events; a little lost in thoughts; but the sudden gunfight snaps him back to the moment and he belatedly falls prone to the floor and starts to aim his blaster, overhearing as he does so that one of the Stormtroopers is calling out in his modified, tinny voice; "Alert, alert….we have saboteur activity in the Main Generator room; repeat; we have saboteur activity in the Main Generator room. Send a squad in support on the double!"

Gavin reluctantly takes out his blaster and looks for a concealed position to take a shot at one of the storm-troopers.

Clark moves to cover and fires again. "We've got to take them out quickly!" he urges.

((OOC: Sorry for the delay, fellas. Life's been busy lately.))

Zinn, in his prone position, fortunately had the presence of mind to draw a bead on one of the troopers aggressing them. He opens fire, hoping to thin their ranks immediately.

The gunfight in the Main Generator room of the Shantipole Asteroid base continues with the rebel band pouring on the blaster fire at the 3 remaining Imperial Stormtroopers. Professor Clark lets loose with a curse as he watches his shot narrowly miss one of the white-armored troopers and the Bothan La'Reth's fur ripples with annoyance as another of his poorly aimed Stun Blaster bolts doesn't come close to connecting with one of his targets.

Gavin Storm and Zinn Valimar however manage to put well-placed shots into two of the Stormtroopers and both them drop to the base's floor with a clatter of armor and neither moves again. The last remaining Stormtrooper backs out of the room with a couple of covering shots from his Blaster Carbine that hit the cover that Gavin and Clark had hid behind and as he disappears from sight the annoying continuous sounds of an alarm begin echoing through the asteroid bases comm system along with a computerized "Intruder Alert" message on repeat.

The Rebel band, cautiously but quickly follow the Stormtrooper's exit path through only entrance way to the Generator room and move into the Power Converter room. There are 3 exits from this room*; one to the 'North', one to the 'East' and one to the 'South'. Before a decision can be made as to which exit to follow; a flurry of blaster bolts sails into the room from the North and East entrances. While none of the blaster bolts hits any of the Alliance members; everyone could tell that at least half-a-dozen shots and probably more had come flying at them. Glancing over; they quickly see a quartet of stormtroopers in each of the tunnels just outside of the room's entrances; kneeling down and taking aim at them. Not wanting to face a full squad of 8 Stormtroopers just now; the group quickly flees through the 'south' entrance; quickly coming down to a four way intersection.

A clearly fearful Suskafoo; his anteannae twirling independently of each other in agitation; quickly explained that the way to the 'west' led back towards the verpine quarters they and originally come from; the way 'south' led to a 'T' intersection and the way 'east' led towards the Hangar Bay where the Imperial Shuttles and TIE Fighters were located. A choice clearly had to be made and quickly….

*Note; I'm using the top of the map as "North" and the right at "East"; etc. I.e. rooms 4, 5, etc. would be to the "North"; room 19 would be to the "East"; rooms 1 and 11 would be to the "West" and rooms 27 and 23 would be to the "South".

Gavin "We need to get out of here is the generator rigged for explosion? If so we need to get back to the shuttles abd be done with this place or we will be overcome by the enemy."

"I agree." Clark says. "I finished setting the charges before company showed up, so no need to backtrack. We don't have time for any more sabotage, let's just get to the shuttle bay ASAP."

Clark heads East.

"Roger that," Zinn says, nodding. He takes off with the rest of the party.

"Do we want to split up into two ships for our escape? If possible, perhaps all of you should take one of the shuttles, and I should run escort in a fighter. Not that I relish flying in an unshielded eyeball, but the extra firepower might come in handy..."

Gavin "The less shuttles for the empire to chase us with the better." Gavin manages to reply back as they run for the shuttle bay.

"I'm all for hampering their ability to chase us," Zinn says. "What kind of shuttles are they? If they have armaments, we should take a couple of them...perhaps flip a 180 once we're outside the hangar and pump some fire in there to destroy their ships."

Gavin smiles "I like how you think Zinn. Maybe if they have enough we could each take a shuttle and turn on em and fire."

"Precisely. We'll see what they have available and go from there," Zinn says. "If we can do so without killing everyone left behind, so much the better; but our first priority HAS to be getting away from here and protecting the admiral and prototypes."
