I may have a much simpler system then Rotworld we can use. Easy to use & follow. I will post some basics here this weekend.

There are 4 stats, that's it. Typically rated 1-3. Muscle, Agility, Wits, & Health. Pretty simple.

Basics:
Rolls of 4,5,6 mean success.
All 6's - critical success.
All 1's - major failure!

Tough tasks may require more than 1 success.

Muscle tasks- breaking down doors, lifting something heavy, fighting hand to hand

Agility tasks- dodging a car, hiding from zombies, sneaking, shooting guns, throwing

Wits tasks- hotwiring a car, disarm a trap, make a deal, intelligence, smarts

Health = Muscle score+ 1- its your hit points. You reach 0, you are near dead & helpless. Another attack finishes you off. If you are rescued and get first aid from a kit or medicine- you recover back to 1 Health, but need a 6 for any task.

Food/rest- can heal 1 health per day.

First Aid kit- one use- 1 Health.
To use first aid or give care , you must roll Wits or have skill (EMT, Doc,etc.) if you roll a critical failure- you hurt the patient instead of help. If you just fail the roll, the person receives no healing.

Skills - Skills are easy, just a few basic skills for your character, you get an extra 1d6 bonus on that type of skill

Some of our characters would be:

Chingy
Biker
Muscle 3
Agility 2
Wits 1
Health 4
Skills- brawling, bikes/diving/mechanic

Lester
Tough old man
Muscle 1
Agility 2
Wits 2
Health 2
Skills- guns, pilot, mechanic

Zombie (slow biter)
Muscle 1
Agility 1
Wits 1
Health 1

There are other types of zombies.

COMBAT
Muscle- hand to hand
Agility- shooting

You fight with your Agility or Muscle # of dice, shooting with Agility 2- roll 2 dice, fight with Muscle 3- roll 3 dice. Add Any dice for weapons used.
Shooting with Agility 2 & assault rifle - 5 dice.
Fighting with Muscle 3 and chainsaw - 6 dice.

Fighting with no weapons- you need a 5,6 to succeed vs living, 6 vs. Zombies

Lame weapon +1d6, but you still need a 5,6 vs. living, and 6 vs. dead.
rock, bottle, wrench, chair, broom handle

Better weapons need a 4,5,6 vs. living and 5 or 6 vs. dead.

Okay weapon +1d6
baseball bat, golf club, knife, crowbar, small pistols, Molotov cocktails

Deadly +2d6
machete, axe, medium pistol, hunting rifle

Bad ass! +3d6
shotgun, 44 magnum, chainsaw, two-handed katana, assault rifles

Zombies
Zombies attacking aren't very skilled- they need a 5 or 6 to succeed

Ammunition- after each battle that you use a gun, roll d6. On a 1- you are out of ammo, til you find more.

Easy, simple, fun!

I posted the simple stats for your character in the Character section, just for you to check out. You still do not need to roll any dice or know any rules. Not much will change. Its just an easier system, only d6, no percentages & charts, no counting bullets.

Okay - lots of dead guys around here today, we may want to decide what two vehicles to park inside at this time. Lester will insist on his ford going inside, and one other vehicle. We may want to think about what TWO vehicles to put inside in the event that we get overrun and only have the option of splitting with two vehicles.

I think we should remove the civic and trailblazer to the outside, BUT close by. The Civic is probably of little use for practicality, but the trailblazer could haul people or with seats removed haul stuff.

What do you all think? (we also need to find out what happened to attract all the dead guys to the garage...)

You can fit four vehicles inside the garage if you like.

How many 4WD do we have running they would be the most useful. What kind of scrap metal is around. Thinking caging the back of truck. At least the sides.

There is an old snowplow, and Lester's truck is 4WD (not sure about his old wrecker) but not really any scrap metal around (doesn't mean we couldn't find any)

Do any of the vehicles have the rigging for the snow plow? If so, I think that should be done first. We're riding around running these zombies down but we are eventually going to get stuck unless we come up with another means of pushing them aside.

Welcome Saalaria!
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
