Harlan will give Raize the eyes as if to say Fancy I try to snag that scroll for you? His acquisitive, gambling nature reasserts itself after a relatively long bout of quietude.

Agrom says, I'm willing to crawl through and see if that sets off the trap or not. Or did you want to have a go at that scroll first, Harlan?

Ahhh you're right...you should try and crawl under, see if that's an easy way through. Maybe if you and Raize can both sneak by, I can follow and try to snag the scroll?

Agrom crawls under the upraised arms of the statues, and discovers while his head is down near the floor that there is a pair of very subtly-crafted pressure plates about eight inches apart on the far side of the statues that make a very faint "click" noise as he depresses them with his elbows.

I didn't want to assume that you'd keep moving after that point, so it's up to you. Nothing visible has taken place.

So I am still elbows down on the pressure pads? I haven't released them yet? If so...

Agrom will tell Harlan, I think I just found the trigger but I haven't released it yet. Why don't you grab the scroll now before the arms start swinging?

Brilliant! Harlan nearly shouts and like a flash he hops up, grabs the scroll and scampers past the guards and Agrom.

Harlan traipses quickly through, scroll-case in hand, and Raizenbrayne trails behind.

Good Idea, guys!

Unless I've missed something, here's what I'm hauling:
Backpack: spellbook (2), mirror (1), ration (1), Tome of Empty Hands (2)
Carried: warhammer (2)

I also get to memorise a spell after camp, which will be Word of Binding, just to mix things up.
Raizenbrayne excitedly hops over to Harlan, excited at the prospect of encountering new mysteries and foiling danger along the way—clearly, last night's sleep drained his recent memories of yesterday's unfortunate events, leaving him as plucky and audacious as ever. 'Woohoo! At this pace, we'll be after the Emperor's hoard next!'

Catching up with the halfling, Raizenbrayne oggles the leather scroll case in delight. 'Well, then, what have we here, Harlan? Looks rather juicy.' Raizenbrayne examines the case for recognisable markings, eager indeed to get inside and see what rests within.

Harlan playfully yanks the scroll just out of Raizenbrayne's reach and mimics chucking it into the dark before tossing it into his grasping hands Here you go, I'm sure the scroll's more interesting than either of us anyways.

Clarification: the warhammer is hammer shaped but mace sized, so it only takes one hand to wield or carry.

I'll post the scroll case contents once I'm at a proper computer.

Once the others have gotten past the statues, Agrom will keep moving, fingers crossed that the statue arms swing over his head.

After he's passed the statues and back on his feet, Agrom will walk east into the ossuary and look for his pack.

C'mon guys, that scroll can wait a second while I retrieve my pack.

Agrom makes it safely clear of the statues, which oddly don't ever start flailing. He heads through the passage to the ossuary and finds his pack lying where he left it.

Agrom will open his pack and make sure his rations and cloak are still in there.

Do you guys want to jump that pit trap and see what was so important that the goblin was forbidden by his false god to enter?

The preserved ration on the top of the stack has been contaminated by Bull Weevils, essentially mealworms the size of large cockroaches, and must be discarded. The other seems untouched as of yet.

Ugh. Lost a ration. At least I have one left. And looks like they didn't eat any holes in my cloak. Ma will be happy.

The scroll case contains three items:

1. A religious scroll that probably contains a Prayer if someone were capable of deciphering and/or employing it (via Ritualist).

2. A Wizard scroll containing the spell Wizard's Aegis.

3. A fragmentary map labeled "Barrow of the Wizard King" that has a few recognizable landmarks on it and seems to lead to a location beyond the mountains to the east.

Agrom

Now that I've got my pack back, I've got room to carry that for you, Raiz.
