Feel free to post something else paranoid though--I mean, he's likely to get his blood drawn in the very near future!

Re: Out-Of-Character Chat
Motivationally speaking, it seems odd for the crew and such to be so willing to let a stow-away criminal, possibly an alien, "draw blood" from them with an on-the-surface unbelievable story. I'd think she would be ejected from the ship and handed over to the authorities, as we haven't taken off yet, or put in the brig. Her stuff examined for possible threats, etc.Keehnelf wrote:Feel free to post something else paranoid though--I mean, he's likely to get his blood drawn in the very near future!
I mean, hunting dangerous minds? Who'd believe that
Re: Out-Of-Character Chat
Yeah, I agree.
Honestly I would turn back, press charges against her. Fire Eugene. Possibly fire Carter. And if I found out any passengers hacked into the computer system, press charges against them as well.
But OTOH it's an rpg and we just have to accept the plot and get everyone involved as equals.
Now, once we find out someone's possessed by an alien brain, well then things are going to get even more interesting!

Don't complain about Eugene, you got him at half price. Plus he has the highest engineering skill on the ship.

Eugene or Nate would be the best crew members to help. Prob Eugene if he is available to help.

I'd prefer to keep Nate in charge of the stowaway. And to subdue any alien-controlled passengers.GreyWolfVT wrote:Eugene or Nate would be the best crew members to help. Prob Eugene if he is available to help.

Should we just assume that Agathes givescthe same somewhat difficult to follow story, and then react?
FYI I'm going to have infrequent opportunities to post for most of October, mostly from my smartphone, so please try not to let me hold the game up...

I'll post something to that effect tomorrow. Weekends are not active times for me on here generally.
Re: Out-Of-Character Chat
That's it? After no chance to post?
OK, well, next chance I have to post, I'll pick it up back on the bridge.

I think Agathes is playing her cards close to the vest.

Re: Out-Of-Character Chat
it is kind of nice to have a one on one interaction from my perspective

"Do you really believe this story, captain? Or find it even remotely credible? I'd be glad to save a few thousand credits at a go myself for just the expense of buying some medical cadaver's brain, sticking it in a jar, and feeding gullible captains a ridiculous line about evil brain parasites! The only thing we know for sure about this alien is that she stowed away illegally, tampered with ship's records..." Here she holds up a readout of the ship's manifest which has a low berth passenger listed that neither Olive nor Dars had registered, "and tried to attack your security chief with some kind of stun gun!" She crosses her arms and frowns. "My vote is that we space her now, make sure there's no system damage that will interfere with jump, and get on our way before the passengers go berserk from just sitting in space knowing something's wrong but not what. Spacing her will at least provide a solid resolution and some answers and restore their morale."
The way things were heading ... I think I'm going to end up with my brain in a jar.

Maybe everybody will end up with their brains in jars!

C'mon guys, I'm trying to play along with the plot. This is the adventure we've been given.

Re: Out-Of-Character Chat
Wanted to clarify something really quickly so as to dispel any mistaken notions that might be floating about:
Baron did all of us a huge favor (and me especially) when he went along with agathes's story and brought more characters into play. I made a huge pacing and scope miscalculation and that help at least in part to mitigate some of the damage.
That said, this scenario is intended to be a sandbox on the most fundamental level. There are plenty of stories, including ones that tie Agathes and several characters together, but it's impossible to "break" those stories. They can simply be engaged with, or not. The choices made at any moment affect what might happen and what choices are readily available later, but none of them can destroy a plot-only resolve it.
I don't want anyone to feel bound to a course of action because of what they expect the "right answer" to be. Nobody's on rails. If Agathes is killed or if she's supported in her mission, the result will hopefully be an interesting story, one that I only know possible elects of right know and which I'm excited to learn more about as it happens!
Hope that's not too confusing.

What's going on with the game? It's seem to have stalled out.
I think we lost Mr. Neyland. Not been active now for two weeks.
