Mounted Combat
Custom rules: All characters have a mounted combat prof.. Standard "charge" rules apply. Mounted fighting unmounted +1 for mounted. Any "hit" with long weapon (spear, lance, halberd etc) creates 50% chance of dismount (1d3 damage). Character performs "Dex check" to remain mounted. Any hit with hand weapon (sword, axe etc) creates 35% chance of dismount. Dex check to remain mounted. Any range weapon hit creates 20% chance of dismount. Dex check to remain mounted.
I use a high initiative. So 1 is last and 6 is first.
Specialization
This is unique.
1) There will be no double specialization.
2) Only characters who roll on the fighter matrix can specialize.
3) Only 1 weapon can be selected for specialization (except for Samurai).
4) 1 point to be proficient and another 2 points (slots) to specialize.
5) Specialization gives +1 to hit and +2 damage
On Thief Skills
1) One may not move while hidden in shadows and remain hidden.
2) One may not hide in shadows while observed (looked at).
3) One must have “surprise” in order to “back-stab”. It is not a combat maneuver. It is a stealth attack.
4) The assassin’s table will be employed.
Infravision
Infravision is extended to 120 ft for those who have it. This helps bring AD&D books into conformity.
Combat Mechanics
The following will be employed:

On a Critical Miss roll 1d100.

Structure
This campaign will have 2 GMs. Dizlexus (Jason) is the primary adjudicator, the rules lawyer and the one to consolidate the action. Imswayze (Gabe) is tasked with playing allot of NPCs. Gabe is creative partner, sounding board and critic to the GM, and the GMs younger brother. Much of his effort will be in the back-ground but manifest in the end product. He can also fill in upon my absence.

Hit Point Recovery
I don't like the strict 1e rules on HP recovery.
So, 8 hrs rest gives back 1 hp and a full day gives 2 at a time.

Called Shots removed
Because there would be no way for me to know if the roll was made before the shot was called. I choose to eliminate the potential for confusion and deception.

But... Deception!!
Life is a roller coaster, if you don't stop to enjoy it then you may as well not even ride.
Re: House Rules
Sorry, don't understand these terms. What is a 'called shot' and do I tell it from other shots (I am not a US English speaker)
Re: House Rules
A called shot is an option to attack a specific body part at -4. Hits are severe.Nordbo wrote:Sorry, don't understand these terms. What is a 'called shot' and do I tell it from other shots (I am not a US English speaker)
I have no way to confirm that a called shot is called before a roll is made. A dishonorable type could get a 20, then decide to make it "called".
So, I don't want to use them -- I deleted that section already.
