Foracor rotates in his stool and watches the entertainment. Part of him wants to kick Castellan's ass right now.

Fingal the Sneak

Well hullo gentlemen! he says, walking towards the men. My little friend and I were wondering if we could buy you lot a round of drinks and ask about any possible work in the area for a small band of wanna be adventurers.

Castellan turns to look at Fingal and Boddin.

"Good evening to you, stranger. Welcome to the Keep, I am Castellan, its commander. We are set for drinks at the moment. Ah, I recognize your hobbit friend - a rescued prisoner!"

Metzner the advisor smiles and raises his cup to Fingal and Boddin.

"Adventurers are always welcome in helping us clear these Borderlands of the monster threats," continues Castellan. "Who are your friends?"

Foracor, Filch Wingman

Foracor puts his spell book on his knees and pretends to be studious.

He keeps an eye on the filch and considers reading "Ventriloquism" right off of the page.

Foracor sits next to Wulfie and digs into his purse. Here is another 25 gp for the priest. It is a gift, not a loan.

Wulfhart finds it strange that the Castellan doesn't recognize the group, considering they've already met. He's a bit too dim to understand exactly what this means, so he takes his usual course of action when unsure and moves his hand closer to the hilt of his sword, readying for action. Maybe he'll hold off on that last mead...

Fingal will let Boddin go into one of his tediously long rants about nothing in particular. He will listen along and judge just the right moment before they tell him to get lost. At that point, Fingal quietly says to them both We are just starting out as adventurers and have little experience in such matters. Most of my friends want to play the heroes role, BUT there are some of us who also don't mind doing a little "dirty work" if you catch my meaning. If there is need of such work around here, perhaps you could let me know personally?

Just before they are sick of listening to Boddins ramble, Fingal will nod to them both and excuse himself from the conversation. Come along Boddin. Let's leave these good men to their cups.

Razmus sees he isn't needed to help with a distraction and pulls out his spell book, wishing for the day when he can have more spells memorized - dangerous spells that can really blast his enemies. He truly doesn't seem very distraught over losing his last company or brother.

Foracor Gives

Foracor slides Eli's spell book across the bar to Razmus. It contains "Shield" and "MM". Foracor reminds the mage, If you already know em, you can always read em right off the page.

Razmus takes the spellbook with a polite nod and flips through the pages. "Ah, shield! And I can always use more magic missiles. Thank you, greatly," he intones softly with his whispering voice. He contently reads through the shield spell and the materials needed to cast it.

Sorry, I didn't communicate directly enough he is across the room, didn't see the group per se before the unfamiliar Fingal approached him. Boddin is with Fingal, and he would recognize him. I edited my last post to reflect this.

"Dirty work, hmm?" says Castellan with a raised eyebrow in response to Fingal.

"Perhaps he means cleaning the stables?" adds Metzner the advisor, a wry grin on his face.

"We do have need for some guards for a valuable shipment leaving the Keep tomorrow," says Castellan.

Dang, I was hoping for one of Zhyms drawn out replies.

Guarding you say? Well that ain't exactly adventurin.....but you gotta start somewhere right? Perhaps, if we prove ourselves worthy, there may be more work in our future? I would like to hear the details of the job, of course. Then I'll let the gang know and maybe we can do some business friend.....I mean sir!

I think if the Castilian is involved, he probably only has dealings with the evil Mage as opposed to talking with measly goblins. I have no problem scraping this plan though if the party thinks it's a bad idea.

exactly. I'm not convinced the Castellan is the traitor, especially with that doppelgänger still running around.

Agreed! That's why I figured talk to them together....find out about them before they find out about us. If we do a little work for them, maybe we figure out who's actually running things out there and get a little more inside info if possible. It shouldn't be too hard for Fingal to play "dumb".

Again......doing this has to be a group decision of course.

and tells his meandering tale. Fingal breaks in, makes his offer.

"I will consider you for the job, but have to know who I'm dealing with," says Castellan. "Bring your band to my tower on the morrow, and we can discuss."
