Turning to the castellan Sir I feel as I would be able to carry out this mission with better armor. Would you be willing to loan me some or point me in the best direction to upgrade

"Who do you think I am, the Iron Bank?" says Castellan with a laugh. "You can try that on the princess. The Keep armorer would have armor to sell."

Addressing Brother Bayard, the commander says: "The Princess is named Daenerys Targaryen, from the distant kingdoms of Westeros."

Metzner the Advisor whispers something in Castellan's ear. The commander nods. "All right, if there are no more questions, you'll meet the Princess' wagon at the Keep gate tomorrow at dawn. Gods speed to you."

Niles will make a trip to the keep armorer and purchase splinted mail and then retire to rest for tomorrow's quest.

In my players handbook it says 80gp,if that is correct I will adjust my sheet .

As the group huddles up to discuss spells and plots, Boddin turns to the Castellan and his advisor and bends over in an exaggerated bow.

"Begging you pardon, your lordships, sirs, but may my companions and I confer before formally agreeing to take on this very exciting opportunity you have presented us? It certainly sounds lucrative, your grace, and worthwhile. No one could aspire to a higher purpose than guarding a princess! But we should ascertain, if we can, whether the time commitment would draw us too far away from our other endeavors, commander leftennants, uh, sirs."

Boddin still hasn't gotten the hang of titles.

Creates a distraction by moving away from the priest and engaging in socially irresponsible flatulence, thus, bringing the attention to himself.

And if that isn't enough, Boddin reacts to Foracor's appalling breach of etiquette and Wulfhart's story—the former by a wordy admonishment, the latter by fainting.

Razmus asks to borrow a gold coin from Castellan, saying he'd like to show him a trick.

My character will memorize detect evil, for that day, and cast it on the Castellan and Metnzer when they are busy talking with party members.

Albertus - Brother Bayard mentioned IC he was praying for Detect Evil the previous night, and said he'd cast it. I'll assume he shared that with you, so you can pick a different spell for the day.

The adventurers step away to discuss the job and enable Brother Bayard to cast his Detect Evil spell. Foracor the elf breaks a mighty wind as Wulfhart the northern warrior recounts his tale of hardship. The others mill about as the cleric says a quick prayer and holds his holy symbol of Tritherean. Bayard moves it in the direction of Castellan and Metzner. The commander is not evil, however Metzner the advisor is.

Bayard scans the room quickly then puts away his holy symbol.

Good sirs......me and my friends here have decided to accept your task. Please excuse some of them for their excitement. As I said, we are a little new at this......but, you have my word, we will NOT disappoint you.

"Very well, I'll inform the princess," says Castellan. "Tomorrow at dawn at the Keep gate. Good luck."

He motions for the party to leave and the adventurers make their way out the tower. They have the afternoon and night ahead of them before meeting the princess.

Niles makes his way to the armorer to purchase heavier armor.


"What can I help you with today, fighting-man?" asks Toron Smelthammer, the smithy, of Niles.

Prices in the Keep module (a Basic rules module) are very cheap, to the benefit of PCs. Here is some equipment prices.

Niles the fighter purchases a suit of plate mail (AC 3).



The other adventurers take a day of relaxation before meeting with the princess and her retinue at dawn the next day.

Any other Keep activities? Otherwise we'll move on to next day.

Razmus followed Niles out of boredom. He raises a brow when shown the armor and whispers softly, "You'd better hope those shoes are padded inside." He is good, otherwise, and needs nothing for the adventure.

Razmus gives a very soft chuckle, his shoulders shaking with the laugh. "Circumstances and life have led me down that road once or twice in the past. People shape people, my friend. How others treat you - it tends to color your aura and light. I would not be concerned with me - if I were you. I am in this for as much the same purpose as you are. Never let one's past get in the way of a common goal. Our future paths may indeed take us in opposite directions, but I do not see this happening any time soon."

Foracor walks into the conversation and says: Brother B. There is a saying in the Fellreev Forests where I grew up. They say "don't ask about an elf's past. It is none of your business. Judge an elf by who he is today."

Raz ain't an elf, but you get my point all the same.

Foracor tends to Bene's eye buggers.
