Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
I'm reading through Rappan Athuk from Frog God Games, and there are shrines to Orcus scattered throughout. When you get into the deeper parts of the dungeon, real high level stuff, as you are near shrines the powerful undead have advantage or are immune to being turned.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Yes!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
My brother sent me to this the other day.
Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
LOL, I love it.
Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
Hee hee. It’s funny because it’s true!
Look up the damage a common house-cat can inflict.
Or the “Numbers Appearing” of kobolds.
In my campaign the crew I DM avoid the kobold caves at all costs. Just finished the evil priests shrine of chaos lair because they are hoping they find a weapon that will help them defeat the kobolds.

Any close inspection of real world animals quickly gets silly.

It's just funny to me how easily they could kill a 0-level villager, in one attack! But maybe not so funny to you!

Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
I know for a fact a level 0 character can die to a rat. So if a rat can do enough dmg for that i imagine a cat could do more.

A regular sized rat? Does 2e start at zero level Ed?

Page 32 of the 2e DMG:
It’s obviously possible to start characters at higher (or lower; there’s a whole “0-Level Characters” section earlier in the chapter) levels, but it’s very much like 1e in that regard. If at all possible, start characters at 1st level.
Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
Or maybe he is just referring to non-classed NPC's, which is what most people are.
Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
Possible
As long as we aren't saying that Unseen Servanters have no class, sounds good to me.

Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
Yes indeed it does. Like Dave said/pointed out.
I was mostly reflecting on that one time I played a DCC game as a 4 PC group level 0's going through a "funnel" supposed to be whatever PC survives from your list is your main PC that you continue with but if I recall none of mine survived.

Re: A Few HA HAs Worth
I haven't played DCC, though I think I'd like it. Dave DMed a (1e) game that ended in an almost TPK, one of the funnest low-level romps ever. My buddy Dan is always afraid of his PCs dying in our Skype game, but as long as I have fun I'm good! Especially if there's a good story! IIRC Dave's game ended with my halfling carrying Greg's character all the way back to town
