Glimble "I could have sworn I looked down both paths... or am I confused? Was one down behind the curtain? I must be loosing my mind down here. Let me sit and check my directions again. I'm not entirely sure I have the direction correct."

Determine approximate direction underground[1d6] = 4

Not sure how many times in a day a Gnome or dwarf can do this. I would recommend the dwarves try this sometime to verify my directions.

Cormack stops and looks around. He scratches at the wall and then at the floor, tasting the dirt with a quizzical look.

Determine approximate depth underground (1-3): [1d6] = 5

"For the life of me, I have no idea how far underground we are."

Unless there is some house rule I missed, dwarves can not detect direction, only depth, underground.

Actually Underground Detection Abilities: Since dwarves are essentially creatures of the underground, they gain certain detection abilities automatically:
Detect or Determine . . . Roll 1d6
Grade or slope in passage 1-5
New tunnel/passage construction 1-5
Sliding/shifting walls or rooms 1-4
Stonework traps, pits, and deadfalls 1-3
Approximate depth underground 1-3
So no they cannot but funny how Gnomes can.

You try to reorient yourself underground, but you still believe your directions are correct.

I'll try and update the map this weekend to help nix the confusion. However, given that you were teleported, confusion is the normal state :)

Here is a written description:

You left the trapped area, heading south in the corridor, away from the white stone.

At the end of this corridor, it branched out left and right (East and West).

You went to the left, following the path that Trevor went. It headed east, zigg zagging, and then ended at a door, which was ajar, and that led to a hallway which runs north and south.

In the direction south, you the hallway turns east again only ~10-20 feet away.

To the north, the hallway runs straight for at least 60 feet.

Glimble "I do not think this is the way back to the tavern. I am quite sure Trevor was not headed back out just yet."

"Hrmph. Very probable. He only offered to take us to the tavern entrance, and only for a fee. It would be presumptuous of us to assume he was headed in that direction with or without us. I say we keep heading north," Cormack says.

Glimble " North it is I suppose. How foolish are we going to feel if north is the wrong way to go." sounding mildly perturbed Glimble checks to make sure his "boomstick" as he has begun to call it is properly loaded and ready for action.

OOC: Picture a gnome saying this: "Alright you Primitive Screwheads, listen up! You see this? This... is my boomstick! The twelve-gauge double-barreled Remington. S-Mart's top of the line. You can find this in the sporting goods department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Retails for about a hundred and nine, ninety five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right. Shop smart. Shop S-Mart. You got that?"

Heading North!

You continue slowly up the hallway, and it comes to an area that opens up into a higher ceiling. The path continues to the north splitting into two corridors and there is a door on the eastern exit of this room.

Glimble "I sure wish we had a map of this place...." he checks both directions to ensure they are safe to travel.
Corridor 1 Detect unsafe walls, ceilings, or floors[1d10] = 4
Corridor 2 Detect unsafe walls, ceilings, or floors[1d10] = 10

Folks,

Here is an updated map, the three options for continuing after heading up the northern corridor are highlighted as A, B, and C.

You can see where the curtain of black was after you came out of the trapped zone.

There is also an unexplored area to the south.

Heading back to the south, you go down the twisting corridor and find another door that is slightly ajar. This one must have been opened by The Irlingstar Trio.

Heading cautiously through the open door, you enter a fairly large, but unremarkable room. In the far corner there is a bit of water dripping down a wall. When you head over to that doorway, you hear the sound of running in the hallway on the other side.

Peering through the door with the light of Glimbles lantern, you see Trevor running full speed at you! His face is a livid mask of terror. He comes crashing into the room, and screams out to you, "Quick, follow me! Run at full speed, there is a real live Dragon at my heels!!! The magic I used to hold him and his servants will not last long!"

With that, he begins to run toward the door that you used to get into this room, and heading back toward the area of the white stone block.

Glimble "Well I'm not one for fighting a dragon so I saw we run. Unless Trevor is a great actor that look says it all to me." Glimble will turn and run following Trevor if the others do so.

"A Dragon would never fit down these tunnels. Get a hold of yourself man.". Thorax silently curses that he had not asked for remove fear again. When the mage passes by Thorax will attempt to restrain him (firmly, but without harm) until he calms down. Keeping his arms pinned should keep him from casting.

Glimble "The man did not say it was a full grown aged dragon you know juvenile dragons could fit down here. No wounder us gnomes tend to out live our Dwarven cousins." he adds mockingly with a bit of a chuckle to indicate a joke.
