Ch. 4: Even Deeper Into the Tomb

The Dwarf watches Odilo's instruction and gives a quick nod, then follows his example.

Odilo shakes his head at the short sword "I'm afraid it will need to be a longer blade. But I thank you Bagrin. Do we have 3 swords that are at least about the length of a long sword or broad sword?"

[saalaria]

"Alas my faith does not permit me to use a cutting weapon. I have no sword."

[Mondego]

OOC: Looks like Erodhon had a long sword. Not sure if we took it from his body.

Bagrin re-sheathes his short sword with a look of mock offense and muttering something about "... just wait until we get back to town ... "

[Stirling]

"I have my trusty and rusty though enhanced claymore..." McCloud waves his sword in the air."I think too that Skarlos picked up a scroll of passwall from the zapped and crispy body of our elf friend Skiratch in the chapel. maybe we should read that rather than risk our blades?"

[GreyWolfVT]

Odilo "Alright had I known that I'd have not attempted this puzzle yet but are you sure we are two thirds done now."

[Mondego]

"No reason not to try the short sword or the claymore. If this door is the only way forward then we really don't have any other choice."

[GreyWolfVT]

Odilo "I cannot say that we will lose these swords but I also cannot promise that we wont. If you have a passwall scroll by all means you can try that and if it fails we can go with the swords."

[Zhym]

Will the party insert a third sword, or try the passwall spell?

[GreyWolfVT]

I'm waiting for that myself if someone hands me a long sword or the claymore I'll try em other wise Odilo is at their mercy since he does not have a sword.

I was waiting on the swords but if we use all those mentioned and lose them - how does that leave the owners weaponwise? Having said that we haven't fought a single combat have we? Do you think there is no combat at all required in the tomb?

[GreyWolfVT]

I doubt we are going to loose them but since nobody spoke up until I was testing my theory I have no objections to returning the swords to the owners. As yes I am sure we will have to fight something eventually unless we can keep out witting them like the juggernaut.

If I had a bet, if this door somehow eats three of our weapons, there's some monster waiting to eat us not far beyond the other side of it. But what else can we do? Bagrin's sword is still available if you wanna give it a try. Either it works as sword #3 or it doesn't, right?


Not seeing anyone else offering a weapon, Bagrin, with all seriousness now, fits his short sword into one of the slots, testing it out.
