Re: 3. Castle Ravenloft
Vorkath, at a loss on how to trap wraiths by natural means, looks out and up the windows in the audience chamber to see if there are windows to a room above. He remembers the outside of the castle and thinks there may be.

Re: 3. Castle Ravenloft
Robert too remembers the outside of the castle and hopes Vorkath is thinking the same as he is. "Perhaps we can climb down by means of rope if we can get out there and there is a balcony or overlook as I was recalling."

"Stay indoors....going on some jolly jaunt outside might be the way of the acrobats and rogues but it will stretch us and we need to stick together. "so says the counsel of Agrippo. As an action if he can see clearly now, Agrippo will take ask the clerics to take a look with him at the 'floating' figures in the hallway by the double doors. Are they wraiths also, if they still float about but not attacking them skip by them into the entrance room.

Robert "I by no means meant to climb out yet but i think that is the intent behind our barbarian er paladin. I fear that the scribe was possibly killed unless his master came to his rescue I'm quite sure our friend Vorkath had another fit of rage with the man for working with Strahd though against his will."

What do I know about fighting ghosts and the like? I deal with locks, springs and such not life sucking undead! Can't you just magic up a explosive trap or somethin'? asks a very worried Tumbler.

Robert "Ha ha oh that is good my friend Tumbler, but I am familiar with nature not the undead. That would be more in line with our holy folk as they have the means to turn the undead and other such tools I do not."

Iluq speaks up, his voice seeming to show his growing despair, "While our skills are used to combat those that follow the path of evil it seems this place... It seems to drain me of my holy powers..."
Yeah... The evil that is the Unseen Servant Dice Roller..."

You continue your flight from the wraiths through the short hallway and into the audience chamber. There, you stop and debate.
Robert wants to retreat all the way back to the accountant’s office, possibly to proceed through the unexplored door in that room. Vorkath eschews that path, perhaps reluctant for the party to see his handiwork. He suggests climbing out the window and grappling to a window above. The paladin runs to the window and sticks his head out of a broken panel. A parapet looms over his head 40' above. Agrippo would have none of the outdoor expedition. “Stay indoors,” says the temporarily blinded legionnaire. His vision finally returns, as does Iluq’s (full vision starting next round). Tumbler has little patience for debate in the middle of retreat. “We either gotta move faster or set a trap for the wraiths!” says the irritated locksmith.
As if on cue, you hear the creaking of hinges from the direction of the chapel balcony.

Robert "Yes I agree." Robert opens the door to the accountants office again and heads on in. provided there is not a fire ablaze in there.

Answering the previous question, Vorkath says: "I left the counter scribe to his deserved fate while destroying Strahd's paperwork. He may or may not have escaped his manacle, depending on how quickly the help came."

Robert hearing that barbaric testimony rushes to the scribes office and flings the doors open wide. He looks for the man to see if he is alright and to see if there is an fire still burning.

Iluq still follows along with the main group until his vision fully returns.

Fleeing the wraiths, you rush into the accountant’s office.
The room looks like the remains of a recent campfire. Bits of burnt paper waft in the air. Burned books are strewn about the floor, their pages consumed and their covers ashen white and still hot. Some copper, gold, and platinum coins appear here and there beneath the ashes. The accountant’s desk is singed. In places it glows the dull red of a log in mid-burning; in others, it is blackened from heat or ashen grey. A blackened figure lies on the floor, still chained to the desk. The dead man's burnt features are frozen in an expression of pain and terror. The room smells like roasting pork.
As you contemplate the scene and its implications, two of the wraiths fly into the room and resume their attack!

Re: 3. Castle Ravenloft
Robert will turn and take a swing at the nearest wraith. likely losing another level.
Scimitar +1 to hit[1d20 +1] = 15+1 = 16 Damage[1d8+1] = 8+1 = 9

After regaining his vision Iluq leaps towards Roberts side, swinging down towards the undead spawn.
Iluq, dual +1 hammer attack, THAC0 16: to hit, [1d20] = 17+1, [1d20] = 3+1; damage [1d4] = 1+2 (+1 v. L), [1d4] = 4+2 (+1 v. L)

Vorkath, paladin
"Even though I walk among the shadows of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me," chants Vorkath resolutely. He swings at the nearest wraith.

You quickly briung the attack to the two wraiths. Robert’s scimitar, Iluq’s hammer, and Vorkath’s sword Excommunicator combine to bring an end to one of the wraiths. Tumbler’s dagger pierces the other shadowy figure, but Ireena’s sword, made of ordinary unenchanted iron, flies through the dark shape without any effect at all. The wraith flies away from Agrippo’s thrusting spear. Tibbius lifts his wand, but after one sour look from Agrippo the magic user puts the weapon of randomness back in his pocket and tries to stay out of the way.
The remaining wraith flies at the dark elf cleric, but Iluq is able to avoid it. It turns about for another attack!

Robert makes another swing at the remaining wraith.
Scimitar +1 to hit[1d20 +1] = 9+1 = 10 Damage[1d8+1] = 3+1 = 4
"Please no more random magics from that wand thank you Tibbius." affirming Agrippo's glare.
