This is where you can ask the GM stuff, and I will try to get back ASAP.

Are we going to have a thread for character links, background, etc. or do you just want those references dropped into the current char gen rules thread? Thanks.
DM: "Black Dougal gasps 'Poison!' and falls to the floor. He looks dead."
Fredrik: "I'm grabbing his pack to carry treasure in."

Gm - I Posted a question about how to roll dice and such. I'm thinking of creating an elf or a thief depending on the ability scores rolled. I'd be ok with you rolling abilities and starting gold to speed things up while I'm learning how.

Labyrinth Lord, as far as I know, and from the extra equipment thread it appears not to be the AEC expansion (we're using race-as-class like BECMI). Old-skool juju! (Sorry if I spoke out of turn here).

Labyrinth Lord, without the AEC expansion so it will be like B/X or BECMI.

I see that Tomcat is going to Post you a PM on how to set it all up, it is over at the unseen servant Dice roller at

http://www.unseenservant.com/

Make yourself an account. and then make yourself a new character, and there will be a character sheet generated. If you can't figure it out in the morning, I will roll you up some rolls.

Hey guys, I think I've got the character sheet all figured out and I'll start to pull together the details of my character later tonight or tomorrow morning.

GM - Couple of quick things, my elf will be 3rd level and will have the ability to cast 2 first level and a single second level spell. How do you want to handle his spell book? Also, I'm going to go with a 3 on your 1-5 pick of "extra equipment". I should be able to figure out to handle the starting gold and hit point rolls.

Thanks for the opportunity, yet I know nothing of LL.
If it is not similar to d20, 3.0e, 3.5e, I thank you, but will respectfully withdraw.

My apologies.. I didn't see a link to the game. Let me check it out :)

Thanks,
Malcolm

I'm assuming that the setting is a home-grown? I ask only because it has some minor bearing on character backgrounds (if they're bothered with). Thanks!

(THAC0=18) Hit it with my axe [1d20+4] = 9+4 = 13 for [1d6+4] = 4+4 = 8 dmg.

Rules are basicly a clone of B/X or BECMI, which is D&D with race = Class.

A bunch of questions.
Do I pick my starting spells or do you? And how many just the three I can cast or more? :)
How is gold determined to buy equipment or do we just pick what we want without a limit, within reason of course :) ?
What about magic items?

Your extra equipment includes your spell book, magical weapons, and some extra gold (you get your starting gold too) so you should be able to equip the player reasonably well.

I used the 3d8 X 10 roll for beginning gold (from the LL rules) and then added the gold awarded from 'extra equipment'. I outfitted (armor, other equipment, etc.) from the equipment list and deducted the gp used (came to about 100g). My character sheet thread post includes my starting rolls (beginning gold and rolls for hitpoints at level 2 and 3). Just an fyi.

DM, I'm going to assume that Hrothgar has all but 10gp in coin of his current worth converted over to gemstones (for convenient carrying and a little more peace of mind). Tag me if I need to give up a few coins extra for the 'going exchange rates'. Thanks!

10% loss if you decide to do so. you can buy 100 GP gems for 110 GP.
