Niles' nose and lips are bleeding. He hocks a mouthful of red in the ogrillon's face, which helps distract it while Niles places a sword-thrust.

Rushing into the barracks, Albertus stops when he sees a goblin along with some of the party members within the room"We need to hurry for I heard the sounds of a battle ragging to our west and I fear the worst. The others traveled that way not a minute ago."

The ogrillon staggers, his body cut by arrow and sword. Wulfhart charges into the room, hacking down on the creature with five feet of steel. The bastard sword breaks through the ogrillon's shoulder plate and it howls in pain.

Foracor the elf wields his blade Orcslicer, coming in low and slashing the monster's legs. It buckles to the floor dead as Niles' sword thrusts into its neck.

Between the boggle slashes and ogrillon punch, Niles is heavily wounded (5/17 HP.)

Boddin watches the fight. At the ogrillon's yell of pain, the hobbit glances down the room's west and south exits. His infravision doesn't reveal anything, but he wonders.

Niles (hp 5/17) keeps his shield up, putting his back toward the northeast corner and eyeing the southern and western passages. With the back of his swordhand he tries to stanch the blood running from his battered mouth and nose. "Where's our healer?!" he inquires of anyone who cares.

Boddin is at the red dot. There are two corridors off this room, but no doors.

The goblin looks reluctant but is in no position to negotiate. The sounds of a battle echo distantly.

"What lays deeper in these caves?" asks Eli'enev Thornwalker.

"Goblins in southeast caves. Orcs, hobgoblins in central and north caves," says the goblin. "Wizard boss and his creatures in west. Let me go!"

Standing at the entrance to the barracks, Albertus looks at the others. "You can do what you want with this evil beast, pointing at the goblin, but we need to group up with the others....like now!"

"Hell with it! Let me help you out." Albertus jogs over to the vile goblin and slams his flail onto the back of it's nasty head. Seeing the goblin falling to the ground causes him to smile."Now let's go."

A look of horror comes over Bayard's face as he watches Albertus approach the bound captive with his weapon.

He steps between Albertus and the captive goblin, quarterstaff in hand.

My guess is that Albertus should be allowed to act before anyone can stop him. The only reason Brother Bayard is going to try to stop him is on account that NJWilliam read my post and that his character has some sort of ESP telling him what Albertus was going to do before he did it. :roll: There is no way Brother Bayard would of known about Albertus' action before he did it? Meta gaming?

Maybe I should of posted a secret message to the DM to stop the meta gaming.

Fine with me to let the DM decide if a 12 strength cleric in chain, shield and carrying a torch, can announce his intentions ("Hell with it! Let me help you out."), then start to jog, cross the room, drop his torch, draw and ready his flail, assume that the goblin has its back to him, and swing a flail for a killing blow without telegraphing anything, or have anyone get in the way.

Bayard is already very suspicious of Albertus, he took two magic items from the last haul in a very capricious manner, and before that attacked Bayard at the inn.
