As Foracor and Fingal approach the door and witness the scene, Foracor says to Fingal, Munificent, are we not? We spared poor Bene from seeing this.

Foarcor moves quickly to block the door at the opposite end of the room and prohibit any exit.

Fingal vomits on the floor just outside the door before he swings around to finish in the Goblin toilet.

Niles charges through the room to the opposite door, looking for hinges as he goes. If it's not hinged on the near side he puts his shield into it and barrels through, sword ready to strike.

If it is hinged on this side, he puts his back to the wall at the handle side, and gestures his comrades to join him. He reserves his sword strokes for any who threaten him.

Wulfhart, fighter

Even though he thinks these foes are not worthy, Wulfhart attacks without mercy.

Goblin blood sprays the room as limbs are chopped and heads fly from shoulders.

The screams and whimpers of goblin women and children fall on the deaf ears of the adventurers, who are intent of ridding this once and future menace from the Borderlands.

Niles the fighter is at the head of the wedge that drives into the room, scattering the goblins. The fighter slashes those in front of him in an effort to reach the far door 40’ away. His sword cleanly decapitates an old goblin whose delusions of mightiness are short-lived. Wulfhart is besides Niles, and the warrior’s great sword disembowels a fat female goblin instantly. The fighters are near the door, but several goblins still block the way.

A goblin head lands at Boddin’s feet. The hobbit is startled and his short sword thrust falls short. Albertus the cleric attacks with righteous fury. He almost slips on some goblin blood and his flail swings over the head of a young goblin. Eli the elf finds too many goblin toddlers suddenly underfoot and his sword thrust misses.

Foracor the elf brings up the rear, slashing with his blade at a chubby goblin toddler. The goblin god Maglubiyet must be with the youth, for he dodges the elf’s sword.

Bayard hangs back, disturbed by the slaughter but admitting it needs to be done in this case. He sees about a dozen able goblins left running about in confusion and fear. Many of them are rushing toward Bayard in an attempt to escape.

Zebcook the rescued prisoner stands back on the steps, nervously looking on. Fingal is running up the stairs, wiping vomit from his mouth with his sleeve.

Bayard seeing there is nothing to do about the slaughter of the infirm, picks the foremost of the able bodied goblins running at him and strikes with his quarterstaff.

Goblins Goblins – Round One


The adventurers press their attack as the goblins scramble. Niles hacks a goblin from shoulder to hip, while Wulfart cleaves an arm off an ancient goblin. They reach the far door. Foracor twirls Orcslicer about in a fine display of elven swordplay, downing a hysterical female goblin.

Dreaming of past glories, some of the braver old goblins attack the fighters with fists, daggers and chairs. Niles and Foracor fend them off. One goblin is lucky and hits Wulfart with a chair (2 HP damage) while the northern warrior is not looking.

Boddin the hobbit scores a flank attack against a grandpa goblin, skewering him with his short sword. Albertus the cleric caves a skull in with a mighty sweep of his flail. Angry goblin mothers claw at the hobbit and priest, but their armor keeps them safe.

Eli the elf slashes and swats at the goblin toddlers about him. He steps on some play marbles, upsetting his blow against the quick little buggers. One of them tries to bite his ankle but can’t get through the leather boot. Another tries to whack him with a play wooden sword but Eli blocks it. Another six-year-old throws tortured white mice at him. This is getting embarrassing.

At the door, Brother Bayard reluctantly takes up his quarterstaff against an incoming female goblin. She practically runs into the head of the staff and drops like a stone, unconscious. Right behind Bayard, Zebcook looks at Fingal the Conversationalist like the man is crazy. “Shouldn’t you get in there?” he asks. “They’re not having an easy time of it, and with all that noise…”

“Shouldn’t you get in there?” he asks. “They’re not having an easy time of it, and with all that noise…”

Fingal says to Zebcook, Oh, they don't need help. But if you insist. When I come back I want to hear about your family.

If Bayard has the door under control Fingal will slip past him and enter the nausiating massacre.

Nasty! Foracor exclaims as he cleaves another Goblin:

Swinging his flail back and forth than right and left, Albertus smashes all goblins close to him. After reaching the rear door he stops and looks back at the massacre. Liking what he sees makes him more determined than ever to kill all those creatures running for a false safety. "Make sure not a one of these beast leave the room!"

The fighter realizes he has been hit by a malicious goblin and immediately retaliates.

"How dare you, little creature?"

Bayard shudders and winces at the slaughter and says a few words of prayer to Tritherion as he strikes the next able adult goblin that he finds.

Boddin is shocked to find himself a party to the slaughter of women and children! Women and children goblins, yes, but still thinking, feeling creatures who had done him no harm! Oh, their menfolk would certainly have done plenty of harm given the chance, but this—this! "No wonder they try to kill us," he thinks to himself. "We treat them like vermin and kill even their women and babes without a thought."

Boddin, the enlightened modern hobbit of tolerance, withdraws from the fight, turns back into the passage from which he entered, and throws up.

Niles opens the next door to see what he can see. If needed, he fends off any aggressive cripples or chair-wielding mothers:

Goblins Goblins! - Round Two

The adventurers mop up.

Wulfhart spins on the old goblin who hit him with a chair. "How dare you, little creature!" he spits out, bringing his great sword down on its skull. The warrior of the north has to pull hard to get the blade free from deep bone. Foracor's sword slices the throat of another hysterical goblin mother. Niles sweeps his magic blade wide but the remaining goblins have scampered away from him.

Albertus, with righteous satisfaction, flails about and strikes down another young goblin. Eli the elf regains his footing and cuts a young goblin in twain at the belly. Another faints at the sight. The other screams and runs into Brother Bayard's quarterstaff.

Fingal the thief steps in and thrusts his short sword deep into the side of a female goblin. She slumps lifeless to the floor. The slaughter is too much for the sensitive Boddin and he exits the room to wretch.

The goblins are dead. None escaped, but the adventurers know the noise was loud.
