Kendrick has another go at the remaining trog and curses his inexperience. Ewell is equally ineffective with his long sword against the annoyingly resilient creature. Darrin continues the string of unsuccessful attempts to end the swamp creatures life, and the situation gets complicated when the beast sinks its javelin into the gut of the the already wounded apprentice, sending Darrin tumbling to the ground.

Even Darrin is able to land a successful slash -- his first -- against the last standing vile creature, but it manages to escape death... for now. The room goes dark.

Do we know how much damage Darrin did previously, or is that something we wouldnt know? Ewell's 5 damage (7-2 for stench) may still not have killed her if she had 7-9HP... So, we might still have another round to go...

Fun fact: the probability of Kendrick missing an AC5 opponent 5 times in a row is about 1/20. So as frustrating as this is, it's no more improbable than a critical miss, and at least Ken's sword hasn't been damaged (knock on virtual wood).

Fun fact: the probability of Kendrick missing an AC5 opponent 5 times in a row is about 1/20. So as frustrating as this is, it's no more improbable than a critical miss, and at least Ken's sword hasn't been damaged (knock on virtual wood).

However this magically endowed trog has survived... Ewell will end her life this time. with glee. (Damage is only 6, but with the previous 5 and whatever Darrin did, she cant be above a 9, so toast)

Ewell finally manages to dispose of the last remaining troglodyte without further incident (+120xp each) when, from down the side passage across the chamber, you hear the familiar voice of Epsilon call out:"They are down here. Hurry!"

Ewell quickly turns toward the warning, and heads toward the door, waiting only long enough to not outrun the lamp's glow.
He will keep his sword ready, knowing there are small trogs and certainly more adults around.

Kendrick follows Ewell, switching back to the spear he borrowed from Ewell. He'll also pick up one of the trogs' javelins in case he needs it.

Please belay my previous move. Kendrick will tend to Darrin as much as possible, binding his wounds as a start. Can he tell whether 2 hp worth of laying on hands would make a difference between consciousness or not?
