I will wait for Alethan or Stonjuz to make that roll. A lot is riding on it and I don't want to be responsible for whatever happens in the event of a miss.

Just to clarify, you stuffed your flask last round. This round, you're going to light it and toss. Correct?

Epsilon's Attack Roll [1d20+2] = 11+2 = 13

Meh... could have been a lot worse is how I look at it. :)

I think Shanny still gets attacks on his spider. Hopefully they're good ones! With the good Init roll, maybe we can finish off the one spider before it gets an attack in and then we can see how far we can run before falling to the ground, paralyzed...

save [1d20] = 17

Working his way south, but not turning his back, the halfling fights in retreat and says, "That's it. I'm outta here. I dont care whats down there."

dagger [1d20+1] = 15+1 = 16 dagger [1d20-1] = 8-1 = 7 dmg [1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2 dmg [1d4+1] = 2+1 = 3

I was not moving east, but was READY to..... when i said moving to (2) it was originally meant as straight nne, not east and then looping back north.....however, it is what it is....and im kinda glad becuase i know it would have put all of the spiders between us and the group...

Kaltar clasps Strom's arm in return
"Blessings be upon you. I have no doubt you will return"
He then shepherds and carries the others outside. Once out he will check the immediate area for enemies and prepare everyone for travel.

Hit Point Adjustment [1d8+2] = 1+2 = 3

I noticed I had +3hp/level on my char sheet but think that needs to be corrected to +2. Adjusted the displayed results above vs. what is in the die roller to reflect. Correct me if I'm wrong! Overall hps would need to be adjusted accordingly.

Ewell, feeling magically better than just a few minutes ago, moves toward the commotion with sword in hand, ready to rescue the wayward adventurers.

I assume the party will meet pretty close to the main fork near the lair's opening, and can leave from there.

Ewell hesitates...
Very well. you can stomp a spider as well as I. It does seem more important to fight our way back to town.

He then heads back toward the lair's entrance, sword in hand, ready to attack inbound trogs. please be none...

Round 2

#31 Post by dmw71 »

Epsilon enters this right branch bearing light and bring much comfort to Gwillt, who's met with shock as his eyes adjust and he gets his first look at the huge spider towering over the halfling; the diameter of the area it covers with its legs is easily as wide as a human is tall. "Shanny, look out!" Gwillt chatters through gritted teeth.

Shannigans quickly scurries out from underneath the giant arachnid, slashing at the legs of the menacing creature as makes his escape, scratching it his first blade. Gwillt connects with his scimitar as well, seemingly causing the creature to wince.

A lit flask, tossed by Epsilon goes sailing a few feet past its intended target to the right. The thrown flask shatters upon contact, catching both the spider and Gwillt with its splatter affect (-1) before rapidly simmering out. A chaotic scurrying sound is heard coming from the first passage off to the right, from where the spider originated from.

The creature is hobbled but can easily keep pace with the retreating hobbit. It snaps at Shannigans but the diminutive humanoid is able to avoid getting caught for a second time in the deadly mandibles.

Retreating further, Shannigans continues to fight for his life against the huge creature,
dagger [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4 dmg [1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4 dagger [1d20-1] = 2-1 = 1 dmg [1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2
but due to placement, size, distance, or something else, misses horribly.

Gwillt lurches at the spider's back, bringing his scimitar down in a forceful swinging hack that somehow belies his exhaustion...

To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 15+4 = 19 (with a +2 bonus for rear attack, if necessary, making it 21)

Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5

His follow through leaves him kneeling on the ground.

Round 3

#37 Post by dmw71 »

The spider acts quickly and lunges at Shannigans, but the halfling quickly dodges out of the way if the snapping mandibles. The defensive maneuver puts Shannigans out of position and he misses badly, but Gwillt lurches at the spider's back, bringing his scimitar down in a forceful swinging hack that drops the second arachnid.

Epsilon with no interest in being caught by spiders heads down the tunnel away from the spider while offering encouraging words.

Strom was going to move down the tunnel to help fight the spiders but it looks like its over for now. I guess his action would be to start down that way and then, when everyone starts to go, to get out the tunnel!
