Re: OOC Discussion
My bad guys!
I thought that if an US could take 6 points of damage before being dispelled, it would work as a makeshift shield for one round.
First his stupid cat and now his 4th level spell is ripped away from him? This damn vampire is gonna pay! That is, if we ever get out of this room that we have been in for 3 months.

Castle Ravenloft is pretty big, but it could have been a one-bedroom apartment for all the moving around you've done lately.

Are you sure you have cause and effect in the right order?

Re: OOC Discussion
indeed that makes it far more difficult to even do anything we're going backwards in levels.

Yeah, level drain is often a fate worse than death, especially for casters. At least if your character dies, you can roll up a new one while the DM tries to find a way to work it into the game. Or you can go order pizza and play a side game.greyarea wrote:Melampus has forgotten his 3rd level spells and "Speak with Animals" from his 2nd level spells. I've always thought level drain sucked but, wow, this really sucks. At this rate, the party will wish I had been completely drained by the spiders so they could loot my corpse.
The good news is that I am tracking XP, so it's possible to get a level back after a while.
Re: OOC Discussion
Also: I've said it before, but I think Ravenloft is way deadlier than Tomb of Horrors, at least at the levels stated on the cover. In ToH, many of the traps are avoidable if you're careful enough. But there's not much you can do to avoid level-draining wraiths or a save-or-die banshee, and that's just from the random encounters table.

Do you think if we just go around shouting his name really loudly that he might come to us?

I don't think this works like beetle juice.

Re: OOC Discussion
Ravenloft is definitely way harder then I thought it would be, Zhym you said it, wraiths and banshees are really tough to deal with.
Re: OOC Discussion
Have you guys explored the stairwell leading off the lounge we are in? Or the corridor with the statues that has another stairwell leading of it to the north? Or the other area off the big stairwell?
I think if you have explored up then we need to head down.

Re: OOC Discussion
back when I was Robert we started in the main entrance of the castle and wandered through a good portion of the castle but i don't remember which stairwells we covered and which ones we did not. however Fendt would not know all of this.

I hope it's not that one wolf!Zhym wrote:No. All you hear is rain against the side of the castle and the occasional howl of a wolf in the distance.

Listen to them. Children of the night. What music they make.

Nicely done.

According to my notes, Iluq did not memorize Know Alignment.

Isnt it one of the drows spell like abilities?
Greys Campaign.
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
I nixed those at the start of the campaign as one of those unbalancing UA extravagances.
