Here are the questions and answers from the Commune spell before we entered the rift:

Are all the entrances on each side connected to the other entrances on the same side? NO
Are the entrances connected to the entrances on the opposite side? YES
Do the giants know we're here? NO
Are the giants expecting an attack? NO
Which side of the rift has the more dangerous forces? SOUTH
Are any innocents trapped or imprisoned in the rift? YES
Are there more ways out of the caves than the entrances we see? YES
Are there worse things than Giants that we will need to fight? YES
Are we capable of eliminating every enemy in the complex? YES
Is there a certain room in the complex that we should simply ignore? YES
