Closer inspection reveals a small green picture of an atom on one canister and a blue atom on the other.

Alex Auster

Alex points out the blue and green atoms and says, "I'm pretty sure I could unhook these things. What do you think?"

Abel takes a cautionary step backwards before responding to Alex. "Only if you think it's safe. What the hell could we use 'em for anyways?"

Alex Auster

Alex smiles at Abel, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained!" takes a loud, deep breath, and carefully unlocks the hose to the green atom canister. Closing his eyes for a moment when it uncouples.

An odorless gas hisses from the tube momentarily as the canister with the green atom is removed.
Within the sitting space of the pod a beep goes off and an indicator shows a strange language on a small display. No one can read it but the display shows a green atom with a red bar through it.

Abel takes another few cautionary steps backward when he hears the release of gas, trying not to outwardly appear too uneasy!

"Well, if that's all of it then, let's be going," he opines towards Alex hopefully.

"Yep, yep! Be right there!"
Emboldened by what seems like success with the first canister, Alex unhooks the remaining hoses and takes the second canister and anything else in the system that he can unhook and remove!

The Goosh, feeling more comfortable in the boat, stretches and looks over one of the side rails, getting a better look at the river. The Goosh then lets out a squeaky toy sound as couple of fish dart past the boat! "So that's what Earth fishies look like! They are so fast and shiny...." Like a farm boy child going out adventuring for the first time in one of those fantasy books of the old age, the Goosh appears to be easily amazed by the simplest of things just the same.

By the way, The Goosh is ready to go! This is just id keeping idself preoccupied while waiting. ;)

Okay guys I'm going to jump you ahead a bit to help catch up...

The river trip is uneventful. The new friends make small talk and tell the others what they will of each other.
The current swiftly moves them several miles down river and roughly 2 hours later they find the river bends sharply back along a more south west route. Away from the course of the comet they were following.
Getting out of the boat and packing up their provisions they head north west along a stretch of weather beaten, plant cracked pavement until they come to what once was a great amusement park.
The skeletons of rolercoasters and other rides line the skyline above the trees.
Cutting through a small amount of forest, they come across a parking lot with many abandoned cars and a building. A foul odor can be smelled coming from the building and the area is noticeably clear of vegetation overgrowth that seems to be trying to choke the rest iof the parking lot in small ivy.

The Goosh, previously excited by all of the new things id was seeing, suddenly quivers a bit and says in a sickly sounding voice: "What is that horrible smell? This isn't earth food is it? The Goosh will just eat rocks if that's the case!"

(Note: The dralasite alien race is particularly sensitive to smells and changes in smell. Though not debilitating completely, smelling something terrible could very well be the equivalent of eating trash for a human.) Tooleychris, does this sound about right?

Abel makes sure that they have boat tied up well and as inconspicuous as possible, just to make sure that their method of travel and subsequent return doesn't drift away or look too enticing to someone that might approach in their absence. He takes a minute to do a careful visual reconnoiter, using his special vision to be sure they aren't noticed or being watched if so.

********************************************

As they make their way along, and get a good whiff, Abel will look to fashion a mask of some sort with a piece of cloth or part of his shirt if he can. He reequips his bow and gets an arrow ready afterward. Trying not to think of the retched smell, he keeps his eyes on a constant roving reconnoiter everywhere, using his Heightened Vision to scan as far ahead and around them as he can. Even if he doesn't see something dangerous, he'll signal the others to stop and regroup.

When they do, he pinches his nose in disgust. "Ugh, this place stinks! What's the plan? We really going inside?"

Abel's enhanced vision notices only that the small ivy growing up to the door of the building (which is cracked open) seem to brown and wither. A slick looking liquid drips from the threshold floor of the door.
While poisonous smelling you doubt the fumes are strong enough to cause even coughing to humanoids, though Goosh is almost nauseated by the odor, it causes no harm.

The cars have been pretty worked over. Windows smashed, doors pryed open, graffiti, ect.... there are a dozen however, and a thorough search would take some time...
