True inspiration !!!
I certainly hope I can find the map I have drawn/sketched, before we get thru with Uncle Milton's map.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
Agrim's large torso fills the entryway as he crawls thru in determination of exposing the new-found cavern, leaving his torch hovering over the hole in the ground.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
You know... this isn't exactly what I pictured when I heard "Temple". I'm willing to go down, but it might be better for the quieter and smaller to lead check the way - someone with good hearing perhaps.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
ooc: what are the dimensions of the tunnel(s) we can see?
Re: The Temple of the Ant
Jagged, yet cylindrical. Approx 2.5 ft in diameter (28-32 inches). The shaft appears of natural cave-like construction.
Re: The Temple of the Ant
Rope for decent will be required, as the tunnel down is fairly deep. Wedging oneself against the narrow walls is possible however.
Ill need marching order for those commiting to going down.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
Branc rummages through the mountaineering supplies sent with them for rope, spikes, and a hammer, and sets them to the side where all can grab what is needed.
He then looks around for a good spot to secure a rope in this area.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
The most obvious choice would be the altar in the center of the previous chamber. Tied off, it will eat up a good portion of rope (35'). The group also sees that the rainwater is beginning to pool up at the bottom of the cave's entryway.NJWilliam wrote:Branc ..... looks around for a good spot to secure a rope in this area.

The group, collectively, has 250' of rope.

Rope Use [1d20] = 10
Rope Use: A character with this proficiency can tie knots of all kinds without a proficiency check. The character adds +2 to all mountaineering proficiency checks that involve rope and also gains +10% to climbing chances—if the climb involves a rope.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
After Benson finishes checking the rope Nayman will go in.
Re: The Temple of the Ant
Agrim (facing south) throws the initial torch down the shaft. It hits rock after 30' then rolls out of sight to the north, but not before exposing a intersecting shaft to the east at the 25' mark.
Agrim then Nayman, ....who's next?

Re: The Temple of the Ant
Branc will head down the rope after Agrim and Nayman.

Benson and Branc stand ready for their turn.
Thorar & Bazil are AWOL, Darius and Garth arent too keen on going down.

Garth isn't to willing to have more than two people on the rope at the same time. He waits to see the first two step foot on the bottom.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
Agrim shrugs at the discussion about the griffon riders. "Willl n-not th-they wait forrr us? We have what th-they want, th-the pl-lates..." He grunts and with a flash of toothy grin belays down into the darkness. Once down below, he'll draw his scimitar and pick up the torch in order to get a good look at the immediate surroundings.

Re: The Temple of the Ant
As most of the group desends, Thorar watches Darius back away from the ant 'temple'. It is apparent that the Iuzan Cleric has no intent of going into the hole.
The dwarf thinks back on all of the events in the last day and decides that staying with Brother Maynard may be the thing to do. "If'n anythin was 'ta hap'n to ya up here, why I'd never fergive meself."
Bazil, the last down the hole, says, "See ya."
