Background:
Tubeedee was an orphan left as an infant in front of Silo's general store. He was taken in by Gerdy Hawkins, a woman whose husband and son had died a few years earlier in a tragic ox cart accident.

Gerdy was kind and caring, but a little off. She often refers to Tubeedee as "Charlie" and is overall a little eccentric. Just the two of them and Gerdy, not quite all there, the two had to survive on the kindness of others, and whatever small income Gerdy could earn doing some seamstress work now and then. They live in a small shack with a dirt floor just to the north of Rashtan.

Some in the area look down on Tubeedee and Gerdy, in particular Kramer West a local wealthy land owner. Others are kind to the crazy widow and her orphan son in particular: Silo - who often will sneak Gerdy some extra potatoes (you ate a lot of potato soup); and Korec - who from time to time gives Gerdy loaves of bread

Tubeedee has worked from time to time for Korec at his stables and spending time in the tavern, he has learned some less that honorable skills - picking pockets and locks. You managed to steal a dagger form a passing merchant a year ago and have taught yourself fairly well in its use.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Hanna's family are long time residents of Rashtan and were among the original settlers. Instead of farming however for generations they have specialized as trappers/furriers, this has led them to acquiring a fairly good amount of land and they are well off. Hanna has two older brothers who her father always seemed to favor. One serves as one of Sheriff Talon's deputies, the other left home and joined the priesthood of Mielikki and serves at the Temple in Markainus.

Because of her family's traditional work, they have been long time worshippers of the forest goddess and helped fund the church in Rashtan. She spent a lot of time in the forest with her father and brothers, always trying to prove she was just as good a woodsman as they were. In this time she has become very skilled with the hand axe, and has become accustomed to wearing tough leathers.

Background: Viktor is the son of a local tanner. His mother and father are honest and very hard working people. He has an older brother named Roscoe, who was always in trouble when they were growing up. Viktor spent a lot of time with him and Roscoe taught his younger brother some scrupulous skills and tricks. Roscoe eventually left home and went to the city of Oslodin where he is now currently serving time in prison. Although he loves and respects his parents very much, Viktor has grown tired of an apprentice tanner's life. He has decided to make some explorations and wants very much to try his hand at some real adventuring if the opportunity ever presents itself.

Details of the Bible of Mictlantecuhtli
The book is written in an ancient form of common that has not been used in centuries. painstakingly Cil is able to translate in halting speech.

It appears to be a book dedicated to the death god Mictlantecuhtli.

You find Psalms, prayers, fables all related to the death god, a black bible.

Your find near the end a dog eared page. The first paragraph is to faded to read but you are able to make out further down the page.

"…and after great millennia he shall return, bearing with him the key of knowledge that shall unlock the veil and allow him, the lord of death, to once again enter the world.

He will rise from his essential salts at the hands of the naïve, then only will the great spires of Mictlan rise paving the way for his kingdom, and the gate will open releasing all of his denizens upon the world, preparing it for his coming."

Polearm Rules

In addition, if the polearm is a primarily thrusting weapon, if the initial attack by the polearm wielder is successful, the opponent loses their attack in the first round. This represents the thrusting weapon keeping the enemy at bay on first contact

Description:
Scythius grew up on the outskirts of the lonely wood with his father. His father worked as a scout hireing himself out as a guide to travelers. When Scythius was 16 his fathers was killed when a party he was guiding was ambushed by hobgoblins. His mother had died during childbirth so he was left alone, Scythius was left with ownership of the small cabin he lives in. Since he was a child he has been hunting with a short bow and has gotten fairly good at it.

Osric is the only son of a local sharecropper. While his family worships Rongo the god of the harvest he always felt drawn to the power of the heavens. When it would storm rather than getting out of the elements Osric ran to them, thrilling in the beating of the rain on his skin, and the crack of thunder. When he was 15 he met a priest of Thor who was traveling through town. Osric spent the evening listening to his preachings and felt a calling to serve the thunder god. He packed his things and left for Markainus to try and get accepted at the church there. After some time he finally was and now he's almost finished with his seminary training, he has returned home just ahead of the equinox celebration.
Thor (from Old Norse Þórr) is a hammer-wielding god associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of mankind, and also hallowing, healing and fertility.
The name of the god is the origin of the weekday name Thursday.
