Gurkan shifts his grip on his bastard sword, transitioning it to one hand while grasping his throwing hammer with the other. With a determined expression, he advances, poised and ready for action.

Re: The Mausoleum of the Ghouls
"Kingdom" of the Ghouls
Circling to the right, the four companions slowly enter the chamber. Bathed in greenish light from the glowing moss along the walls and rock formations, the room gives off a "ghoulish" vibe.
The companions watch their steps as they approach the stream and look up at the "thrones" as Roan calls them. The stream gurgles along toward the pool on the opposite side. The throne directly above them, for there is a slight rise in the ground from the edge of the stream on the opposite side, is empty save for what appears to be a large decayed piece of fabric. Wool perhaps, maybe cotton material; it's difficult to tell from where they stand.
A bit further downstream, there are two large rocks that perhaps were once a bridge over the stream. Nothing is there now except the bases of the bridge; the stream is approx. three feet across.
From their position on the right, the companions can also see the left throne...and the figure upon it. Draped in a tattered shroud, is some type of figure. Is it a corpse? Is it a skeleton? Is it alive or dead? Those questions are yet to be answered, pending further inspection...
Actions?
Looking at the map, you are standing on the right side of the chamber near the stream. The hooded figure is sitting on the "throne" farthest left.

Elwood likewise readies to cross as quietly as he can manage.

Alle
Keeps her Quarterstaff held high bathing the surrounding area in Light spell. Sounds like a plan. Let's split in half. Half check the empty one and half watch the occupied throne. That way we can fight back if needed.
She twirls her staff like a pin wheel.

Re: The Mausoleum of the Ghouls
Crossing the Stream
With everyone in agreement, the companions prepare to cross the stream to the other side of the cavern. It is not very deep, but the water is cold and not very clear. Heedless of Khawla's plan to check the empty throne first, Gurkan jumps across and heads straight for the figure on the opposite throne. While Alle spins her staff to keep light in the area, the brave (foolish?) Mwangi ranger, waits for the figure on the throne to move. After a few seconds, he pokes it with his sword. The figure shifts a bit and falls forward in a tangle of rotting cloth and bones, clattering to the ground. The rattling sounds echo through the cavern...and then something else begins to happen.
With grating sounds like that of rock on rock, a section of the large "stalagmites" in the chamber slides open, and ghouls come pouring out!
Initiative and actions!
On the map, the lone "G" is Gurkan, the numbered G's are the ghouls, and "X" is where the rest of the group is standing, preparing to cross.

Re: The Mausoleum of the Ghouls
Ghoul Bashing!
Underneath the mausoleum in the fishing town of Otari, the companions fight the denizens of the dead.
Invoking her arcane magicks, Alle unleashes magical missiles into one of the Ghouls (G1). The blasts stagger the creature, allowing Elwood to close and split it in two with his falchion!
Meanwhile, Khawla turns and attacks the closest Ghoul behind them (G3), slashing a chunk out of it with her scimitar.
Standing close by, hiding in the shadow of the rock, Tuga sees one of the Ghouls (G2) going for Elwood and steps in behind it. His glaive takes out its spine and his kukri pierces its corrupted brain...and it falls to rise no more!
The remaining ghouls attack with ferocity, and Khawla and Gurkan manage to fend off their respective foes. Elwood, however, isn't as fortunate. While protecting his friends, another Ghoul charges in (G5), clawing and biting the stout Dwarf unmercifully.
With horror, he feels his muscles beginning to lock up!
(CON save, DC 10 please!)
Gurkan finishes the round with a devastating attack on G4, leaving the ghoul face down in the stream!

Re: The Mausoleum of the Ghouls
Missiles and Melee!
Elwood is unable to shake off the paralytic effects of the Ghoul's claws and stands rigid as the battle flows around him.
Seeing Elwood in trouble, Allean fires off another magic missile, knocking the ghoul (G5) back from the paralyzed Dwarf.
Behind her, Khawla continues to slash at her ghoulish foe, opening another bloodless cut on its sickly gray body. The ghoul snarls and is about to attack, when a sword pierces clean through its stomach and another through the back of its head! It falls to reveal Tuga standing there, grinning.
Gurkan leaps the creek and charges the last Ghoul, which has already paralyzed one of his companions. His attack is ferocious and he misses taking off the Ghoul's head by a fraction of an inch! The Ghoul snarls and attacks Gurkan with tooth and claw! Its filthy black talons rake Gurkan down the face and chest, opening bloody furrows on his tanned skin.
