Zaki also carefully watches their cold sleep passenger.
If not done before, she will move them to one of the Chance's low berths and set the recovered berth aside for maintenance/salvage.

Sigrún is very excited by this idea "You have that technology on board? For my axe I will use a deck plate recovered from the wreck. Steel steeped in Jörmungandr's dreams would indeed bite deep! I have the design in mind: a blade with a point opposite the axehead. This has "teeth" on the reverse - for grip. I will draw it out for the Engineer to follow".ateno wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 3:18 am "We should go to the ship engineer and have them print you an axe from ship steel. That's how I got my spear, hardly needs sharpening, pierces most anything and no bend, even if one of those magic snakes had charged me.
He thinks a bit.
"Maybe we could print 2 axes and another spear so we could cross train, yes.
Karcsi smiles.
Zaki moves the sleeper over. She is worried about his condition, he is going to need a lot of luck even in a high tech hospital to recover. Even if he survives he is most likely destined for a long (maybe permanent) coma.joertexas wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 4:54 pmZaki also carefully watches their cold sleep passenger.

Depending on Karcsi's background he may or may not recognize the design but Sigrún seems to be describing a specific weapon type: the boarding axe.
Donovan nodded and frowned further not having heard that Sigrun had been not only badly beaten but bound as well. "It's pretty low to bind a person in cold sleep. Still," he grinned. "You must have pissed them off quite a bit to get that treatment." Donovan gave a shrug at the mention of Marines. "I sort of like the Marines but the Navy is okay as well. It's fun to see the squids and the jar heads brawl in a spaceport bar."Tiglath wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 4:22 pm
Sigrún attentively follows Donovan's reasoning adding her own commentary to his analysis "Maybe Tostig's men just had one autodoc and had to put their man in it? Or no medic like Zaki or no autodoc at all. My hands were glued to my body and my feet secured so whoever put me in coldsleep knew I am dangerous or thought I would attempt escape. Marine?" She pulls a face "I don't know why but I don't like Marines..." then brightens "I am Navy! We have remembered something!"
She nods adding "Pequan is one of those places you only end up if you are on the way to somewhere else".
"As to the salvage Foringi Flighty directs you and I to check through the container. We are not covered by the contract and so therefore can not breach it. I think it may be very useful to learn what has been recovered".
"Já! Allt ágætt- that's very good. I will see you then - I have to help Donovan now. We are checking the container. I know you would help but you can not without breaking your given word".
Sigrún seems amused by Donovan's reaction on her behalf "It makes sense to immobilize someone if they are dangerous. I'm fairly sure I killed one of them and crippled another..." she shows her white teeth in a vulpine smile "...I was very drunk and not at my best".helvorn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 3:11 am Donovan nodded and frowned further not having heard that Sigrun had been not only badly beaten but bound as well. When mention of the cargo came up Donovan brightens. "Let's definitely go down there now and take a look. The container is sealed but I can get it open again pretty easily." He finishes coffee and waved toward the cargo hold." After you mein Kriegerin."
The others would be aware that Flighty recovered a locked, handcuffed to a corpse, briefcase that he needs to get opened. He hasn't kept that quiet and has already asked the chief engineer and Zaki to help him open up. That might be related.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 2:04 pm"Já! Allt ágætt- that's very good. She sets off to check the container.

As Donovan waves her on she laughs "You are actually from Gram but you just haven't got there yet". She volunteers "Let's have a first look and see what's there. I suspect what is inside will be small and very valuable - I think Psi drugs. They are a very hazardous cargo both to transport and to sell in the Imperium". She adds "After our first look we should coordinate with whoever is searching the rest of the loot. A ship's Purser or Corporate escort for the cargo might have keys or codes that might help us but if they were biometric... I think we're going to need to improvise".
As per the above being common knowledge Sigrún nevertheless seems to be displaying some knowledge of "alternative cargo transition options".terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 5:54 pm The others would be aware that Flighty recovered a locked, handcuffed to a corpse, briefcase that he needs to get opened. Actually, Sigrun was there when Donovan reported the contents. She was gone when it was fully opened, but has at least an idea and knows that Donovan knows what is there.Tiglath wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 2:30 amAs per the above being common knowledge Sigrún nevertheless seems to be displaying some knowledge of "alternative cargo transition options".terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 5:54 pm The others would be aware that Flighty recovered a locked, handcuffed to a corpse, briefcase that he needs to get opened. Given the above being common knowledge the logical sequence must surely be:
see what's in the container (known to most PCs but unknown to Sigrun as per her last)
open briefcase / pursue any other looted clues (not sure there are any)
return to contents of container
(OOC: Timely steer - much obliged. )
"He didn't mention anything about it," Zaki replies. "I did notice that he'd healed more quickly than normal, and that his brain activity was flagged as having possible psionic activity. But, I've been preoccupied with transferring my other patient to one of our low berths, so I haven't followed up on it yet. We do need to talk about what we collectively experienced back there, though."terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 5:52 am Flighty will drop in on Zaki after they make the jump. “Hey, just checking up on Karsci. Not telling altar security it has, so I wondered if you and the engineering team can make sure it’s safe and open it.”joertexas wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 2:08 pm"He didn't mention anything about it," Zaki replies. Sorry, this subject slipped my mind as something we needed to cover.
"I can use my medical scanners to get a look inside," Zaki suggests.terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 6:16 pm“As long as he’s doing okay, I’m not overly concerned. Zaki lays it on its side on the table, and runs her medical scanner over it. She sends the imagery to the table's display so Flighty can see it, while she uses her own HUD.terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2024 8:08 pmHe’ll get the briefcase and return, handing it over to her.
Donovan led the way to the cargo bay. The subject container was strapped down on the deck a bit by itself. "The container opened easily and was empty except for padding and the cargo itself. There was a foam cube about a meter by 1/3 of a meter. I don't recall if it was marked anyway. We were in a bit of a hurry." He goes over and opens the container and reveals the prize. Donovan reaches in and pulls it out to lay on the deck.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 2:04 pm

Donovan will examine the cargo container itself more closely.Tiglath wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:01 pm Sigrún examines the wrap protecting the cargo to eliminate it from her suspicions. (OOC: So not opening it yet in case new info comes to light).
