Is Jamaica centrally located? (I suppose it would be for our friends in South America)

It's funny you bring that up, since I am also currently assembling 6 couples for that exact reason. A gaming vacation on the beach in December. 8-)

I think we all better meet and get to know each other a little before we start going on tropical vacations together though.

(I see this thread even brought Bree-Yark out of a 4 year hiatus.) Welcome back! :D

Turks and Caicos (our favorite Caribbean destination) has the airport close to hotels all along Grace Bay Beach. Everything is then within walking distance (restaurants, groceries, etc). If you are looking for a reason to have it in the tropics there is one more to add ;)

Carnival is running some deals right now ;).

The only downside is if folks didn't get along there is no escaping each other :). Don't make eye contact in the bar!

Bree-Yark is actually my brother (who was with me at the table for the game Carlos was running).

I encouraged him to come on and share his interest because he will definitely be interested in attending. (Definite, if "centrally located" is inside the United States. I can't even commit to being a definite if the Caribbean is seriously being considered.)

Awesome! (I did not know that)

I absolutely LOVE his screen name.

Ya, centrally located seems like the way to go. (for this first one, anyway) :? :D

I'm a little jealous myself.

He's that on the Dragonsfoot forums, too.

I noticed that too as I played with Bree-Yark in a Barrowmaze LL game here four years ago (sirravd's?) and of course, his avatar name is oft used as a Goblin exclamation as we know from various Keep games.

So I pinged a 'welcome back' too.

Not sure I can make a stateside convention. If finance and time allows I would definitely like to come.

Gotcha. Marking him as a troublemaker in the Mod forums over there right now! ;)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Thoughts on Cleveland?

Thoughts on a potential month? Summer/fall? 2024? 2025?

Beautiful place. Not terribly far from me in Jersey. :)

All would be welcome! (especially Europeans and Goblins)

I'm not sure Cleveland is "centrally located" either. Especially for those coming from the west. But if another location suits the majority of attendees better, I could live with that. I do like the idea of having it at an airport hotel, for ease and simplicity sake.

Time of year is going to need some discussion as well. I am guessing the winter holiday season would be a no-go for most, but how about during the summer months? Would the June-August timeframe work for those with kids on school break?

My guess is that it would either need to be later this year, so everyone could make plans, or whenever we decide in 2025.

In the meantime, keep the comments/questions coming in!

You can split the difference and go with Indianapolis.

Extra experience points for scheduling on the same weekend as Gen Con. :D

late summer/early fall works for me to plan ahead for and see where work travel starts to fall to. My kids are older and more or less self-sufficient so that's easier ;). I will not be going to Chicago in the winter :). Ever.

Depending on how far you really wanted to take this, you could turn this into an annual public con as a side hustle to make a few bucks - have fun mostly - and shape it how you wanted to keep it limited and game-focused. As I said, 'depending'.

Winter in Chicago has been very tame the last couple of years. This past winter, for instance, Mother Nature dropped like a foot-and-a-half of snow on us over a period of two days, but otherwise left us alone.
