Organize what you want to do and take with you and then we'll go to your approach to the "hole in the wall."

Keep in mind, Doub is unlikely to want to come with you or stay at the Citadel while y'all explore/fight inside. He is willing to ferry you out, but getting back is another kettle of fish!

You might want to arrange for a rowboat of your own to tie up out there so you can retreat if you have to.

The day passes as the group rests, recovers and supplies themselves. The townspeople appear curious, but most only nod in your direction if they see you not speaking nor approaching you.

As night falls, you assemble back at Doubs boat with your gear. You see he has tied a rowboat to his boat, "You can tie this at the dock out of sight and use it to get back if you need to. I'm not going to stay there, that would be too dangerous."

"Are you ready to go?" asks Simon Baker who accompanied you to the town's docks, "Remember you job isn't to kill them all, just make them leave the island and keep them off until the guards from Fallcrest get here in a few days."

Doub spits into the water, "None will fault ya' if you do kill 'em all, though.

The rest of the party board and Doub casts off. The trip to the island doesn't take long and soon Doub pull into the recessed area and opens a bullseye lantern showing an iron ring set into the little, hidden, stone dock underneath the walls of the Dragon's Citadel. He deftly moves the boat over to it and ties a line.

"We're here." he whispers worriedly as he looks into dark opening where a wooden door once stood, "It's damn dark in there. I can just imagine a horde of Goblins piling out of that doorway onto us."

It is quiet here, except for the soft slap of water as it laps against the stones and the side of the boat and Doub's whisper, there is no sound. It is also very, very, dark here in the recessed area. You are going to need torches or lanterns to make your way inside and where ever the dark corridor inside leads.

Baker is the first off the boat and he steadies it by tying another line to a second iron ring whispering to you, "I'll tie the rowboat to these rings when you're all inside and then Doub and I will be heading back to town. Be careful!"

Malbec leads the way in, crouching slightly. He doesn't need to crouch, but he's thinking about Aislin's bow right behind him...and she's not that tall...

Malbec and Aislin pause just through the doorway and let their eyes adjust. It is very dim in here, but they can see a little. The passage is about 5 feet across and 8 feet high and leads ahead 10 feet then opens up into a much wider space...a room perhaps, but they can't tell where they are. It is too dark to see to the other side. Here, near the doorway the floor is covered with a thick layer of dust. Nothing, and nobody has walked through here in a very, very, long time.

At five feet across there is really only room for you to file in one at a time, so Hermundr the Dwarf, Maeva Couillard the Sage, and Bruce the Cleric (NPC) line up behind the front pair. Being human, Maeva and Bruce see even less than those ahead of them, and are moving forward with a hand on the person in front so as to not get lost.

He can swing the great axe in here, but it's tight, definitely only one across when he's armed with that.

Bruce, the Cleric (NPC) at the rear pulls the door that has fallen to one side mostly shut and lights a torch giving the party some light.

You can see the walls are a gray stone, roughly cut. There are sconces at intervals along the wall, some have short torches in them, but none are lighted and all look very old and dusty. The floor and ceiling is made of stone blocks that have been cut smooth. Cobwebs and dust is everywhere.

Ahead you see the corridor does widen into a room. It is a good 30 feet square and there are a number of small barrels and wooden chests here. An empty, but sturdy wooden table sits in the middle of the room. Along one wall is a rack containing some rust covered tools, you see a crowbar, a nasty looking hook with a wooden crossbar attached to it, both a wooden and iron hammer and a several chisels. Over in the southeastern corner is a pile of wooden slates, haphazardly piled against the wall. Everything is dusty and covered in cobwebs. From the lack of tracks in the dust on the floor this area hasn't been entered by anything for a long time.

You entered from the east, the only exit you see here is toward the north...a set of double doors at the northwestern corner of the room. They are closed.
