Elwood eyes wide briefly "Undead, damn. I s'pose we best go see if they need help. Uh might we be able ta leave tha injured guards with you?" he hazards asking before heading off in whatever direction the others went to face off against ghouls.

"Yes which direction is that?
Tuga takes off his new hat and dons his leather protective coif and heads that direction.

The young acolyte ushers Elwood and Tuga to the back door and shows them the cemetery and the mausoleum in the distance. "They are in there!" the acolyte says, pointing. The pair head in that direction as fast as they can through the winding pathways among the markers and headstones of the dead. They reach the door of the mausoleum, a large, eerily beautiful edifice filled with dappled light and shadows...and within those shadows they spy two vicious creatures about to descend a set of stairs just across from the ones they entered on. The Ghouls turn at their approach, snarling hungrily, and move to attack!

Deeper in...

Khawla doesn't say a word. She simply charges, scimitar glowing in the darkness, and cuts a deep gash in the chest of one of the ghouls (G2). The Ghoul screeches and pounces upon the priestess with tooth and claw! (Roll 2 Fort Saves!)

"Don't let touch you!" Alle warns too late, sending a force missile into the opposite Ghoul.
The creature howls and comes forward, only to meet Gurkan's hammer with its face! It staggers back and then charges the barbarian, and with a might swing, Gurkan cuts it nearly in half!

Elwood "Avoid their touch if ya can Tuga." warns before engaging in combat. Pulling up his crossbow he aims at the lead most ghoul and fires.

then, seeing his companions push pass him he pushes ahead with them and grabbing his sword with both hands (power attack) he attacks.

Tuga steps back, everything is happening so fast....

he knows it will be to long to draw his bow so he steps back and fires his cantrip at the one on his side.

Ghouls and Guts!
Initiative Order: Khawla (22), Alle (17), Gurkan (13), Ghouls (12)

Khawla shrugs off the paralytic effects of the ghoul's attack, swiping at the creature with her scimitar. While Alle hesitates, Gurkan does not. Gripping his sword with both hands, the warrior rushes to Khawla's side and literally cuts the ghoul in half! Black, stinking gore flies through the air, leaving the ghoul in two pieces and the warrior weakened for the effort!


Back in the entrance hall...
Initiative Order: Ghouls (22), Elwood (17), Tuga (3)

The two creatures from the grave rush the pair of companions, biting and slashing with tooth and talon! Elwood staggers back from the assault, firing his crossbow point blank and clipping his foe in the shoulder. Tuga is slashed and bitten as well, disrupting the cantrip he was about to cast.
The pair find themselves in dire straits as their muscles being to lock up from the paralytic effects of the ghouls' touch!
(Need 2 FORT saves for both of you!)

Holy cripes. I didn't know they were that close...I would have gone sword vs crossbow in that case.
Elwood if able to will drop his crossbow and switch over to his Falcata probably the easier to draw since the other is a slightly larger sword

Up Close and Personal with Ghouls!
Initiative Order: Ghouls (22), Elwood (17), Tuga (3)

Due to the shadows, Elwood was unprepared when one of the ghouls charged him and clawed him up! Staggering back, he reaches for his falcata as the ghoul claws and bites at him. Luckily, this time his armor deflects the creature's talons and teeth! Elwood slashes at the ghoul, but is unable to hit it.

Beside him, Tuga is also bleeding and as he reaches for his halberd, his ghoul foe attacks again! Filthy talons claw at Tuga's neck and shoulder as the ghoul rips into the flesh of his arm with its jagged teeth! (Need another FORT save for Tuga!)
If Tuga beats a DC 15, he can attack with his halberd.

Deeper in...

Gurkan suggests falling back and Khawla agrees, stating they are in a choke point and need to regroup in the crypt. Both are attentive, listening for any other sounds in the mausoleum. They hear nothing...but Allean's sharp ears catches the sounds of fighting and growling coming from somewhere behind them...back where they came from!

The last map is fairly the same except for Gurkan/Khawla/Allean falling back to the rubble entrance at the crypt.
