"That's a big one ey? Where did that one come from? Keep on em folks."

Grimnar
Helps the Female out of the over-turned Carriage. Is this all your belongings in here or was this transported items. He begins to drag all the packs and bags out saving the chest for last. Waiting for a rely so he takes it slow. Then pulls the chest out eyeballing the make and style of it. Happy to help, but I am not sure how all these bags are getting to your destination. .

The two reply to Grimnar "No problem. We can carry. Chest might have to stay behind."

Re: Chapter 7: I7 - Baltron's Beacon
Somewhere else nearby... Telurion walking the road that leads to Penhaligon sees up ahead there is a tree down blocking the road and he can hear some sort of commotion from that direction. So he starts heading towards the noise when he stops suddenly as he sees the strangest thing a giant-sized ugly gnome just kind of slowly grows out of nowhere near the treeline on the other side of the downed tree. He has probably another 100 feet or so to go before he reaches where the downed tree is but he can certainly move in closer for a ranged attack or even make one from where he is. At this distance he can hear a little better the sounds of battle on the other side of the impromptu barricade.

Back at the scene of the tipped wagon The two strange beings that appear to be timid, but able to speak broken common they help get the belongings from the wagon by Grimnar as the giant ugly gnome like creature grows out of the ground to a giant height it chuckles and strikes at your friends that were in the treeline. Everyone is within ranged attack of the giant creature. Quinn the cart guard attacks the giant creature hitting it with at least one of her two arrows. Trist does the same and manages to hit it with both arrows. The rescued two move to the cart that Durand has turned around in the event of a hasty retreat. Raywald takes a pop shot at the giant thing with his sling but the missile flies wide. Delsenora also fires two arrows at the creature hitting it with both. Therick if he is even around is just a spectator too in awe of what is going on that he doesn't even move or blink.

Directly by the giant ugly gnome thing Egon & Kravoud get attacked and strike back or try to Kravoud distracted by the sudden change of events trips and almost falls but manages to keep his feet under him and he only staggers but misses his attack. Egon similarly takes a klumsy swing and twists his ankle fortunately he did not break it, but his movement is now hindered as he hobbles a bit now and to make matters worse missed on his attack. Weston thinking on his feet casts reduce on the thing and it starts to reduce in size and it looks confused, then angry.
Heavily injured the thing lashes out at Weston with it's spear throwing it at him.

Kravoud
Decides that despite his awkward first attack versus the expanding Gnome, he will take another swipe at the strange being with his mace.
Mace [1d20+1]=2+1=3 damage [1d6+1]=4+1=5
While not as clumsy it still leaves much to be desired.

Trist continues to send arrows at the giant gnome as it seems to shrink.

Telurion
Telurion dashes forward as he sees the gigantic creature, throwing one dagger at it when he moves closer.
(So move 60' and I am now at 40' - so that means -2 for a dagger throw I think)
(Hits AC5 for for 5 points of damage)

Weston
Weston wishes that he'd cast that barkskin spell as he tries to dodge the thrown spear and fails. He grunts as it scores a bloody trail along his side. Seeing the state of the creature and his friends attacking the creature en masse, he lets fly with his sling:
Sling (THAC0=18): to-hit [1d20+2]=8+2=10, dmg [1d4+1]=4+1=5
(hits AC 8)
