I know Alertness is a 1d20 roll, but what is Surprise in 2E? I know it is 1d6in 1E.

Encounter Reactions: DMG 103
Surprise: 1d10 If you win surprise, you will a get free rounds of actions. But you can only use your current #att and
ROF with your weapons. Your attacks are at +1. Your DEX reaction adjustment will modify this roll.
Those who lose surprise LOSE your AC DEX BONUS. You are unprepared for battle. A 1-3 equals surprise.

Sorry for the delay. I lost my train of thought on what was the encounter creatures in the tunnels. Had some distractions over the weekend, D&D game with old friends Saturday and I got consumed in playing Wastelands 2 Sunday. I have appointments today so I should hopefully have the encounter typed up and posted later tonight unless we end up doing a family movie/show or game tonight. Sorry about that.

Yeah I think we spent more time shooting the breeze (sidetracking) but it was fun.

That is common in our ftf games and absolutely nothing wrong with it.

I assume that I am surprised and have been waiting to be cleared to act.

You can act now you were only surprised in that round before the creature grew to giant size. Same with anyone else that was surprised. Anyone that was under the effects of the fear spell will need a save v spell roll again to be able to overcome it or act otherwise you will be able to act next round. I also need to remember my NPC names lol so I can act for the cart guard.

I know who I have from before the surprise rolls but I still feel like we basically lost Ricky "PyroArrow" again.

Quick question right off the bat - the 'Currently Active' list is up to date?

And one more just for good measure - if I go with a dual Class (not sure I can manage the points for it) Fighter/Mage, I will start with levels 4/1?

I can just put up a mock character to roll the ability scores in the dice roller, right?
