Nah Olos will stay on the wall, but sidle up to the intersection.

More guards?
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick

Hex (AC 0, HP 17/27, Armor 8/8) (Continual Light coin)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 60/65, Armor 25/26)
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 48/63) (Infravision)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 44/53)
Boff (AC 5, HP 60/61)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 49/50, Armor 8/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 17/21, Armor 8/8)

Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Location unknown

Raffi gets out a piton and pounds it into the wall. Frannie and Garrant remain in the general safety of around the corner and Boff remains at his position with this bow out hoping that wave will come running through the tunnel. Nah Olos moves down the tunnel as quickly as he can while hanging from the wall.

After Androgost and Qleceec kill the two lead dark elves and while various conversations take place, Hex walks to the front hoping to displace the magic darkness that is in effect. His continual light coin breaks through the magic darkness (the grey circle areas are the equivalent of torch light) Hidden in the darkness are a number of dark elf warriors.

The dark elves not being a huge fan of the light and having just seen their allies killed attempt to return the favor.

O1 fires a crossbow bolt at Hex but it is deflected by his illusionary plate mail. O2 similarly targets Androgost and his armor protect him as well. O4 focuses on the group and the immediate effect is the coin in Hex's hand to stops glowing.

R1 and R2 are kneeling and fire their crossbows at Qleceec and Hex respectively. The bolt gets past Qleceec's armor and that will require a saving throw vs. poison. The bolt targeting Hex is ineffective. R3 also fires at Qleceec and R5 at Hex. Both miss.

With the only active light source for group (and the dark elves not using any) the only light for all small glow from the moss. The darkness just highlights the continued sound of water moving and fast from the direction of the north passage. The sound is still not getting closer or further away.

Hex will back away carefully until he is back in the horizontal tunnel. He will place a wall of fire across the tunnel to the south with his wand of fire, blocking it off completely if it will stretch that far, the hot side facing southwards towards the elves there.
He will try and place it where the southern wall of the tunnel the party are in starts to turn south, the wall on the far side of the map. (I hope that makes sense).

Raffi will wait one more round to see if the rushing water seems to be getting closer, before climbing back down again and moving forwards towards his master.

Androgost also engages! He continues north to unleash his blade upon those who stand in the way of his mission.

The battle in the dark
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick

Androgost (AC -6, HP 60/65, Armor 25/26)
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 48/63) (Infravision)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 44/53)
Boff (AC 5, HP 60/61)
Hex (AC 0, HP 17/27, Armor 8/8)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 49/50, Armor 8/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 17/21, Armor 8/8)

Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Location unknown: missing for 7 rounds

With the sound of the rushing water still present, but diminishing the group takes the following actions.

Qleceec attempts to charge the dark elves to the south, but collapses instead with her sword clanging on the floor of the corridor right next to her hand. Hex uses his Wand of Fire to create a Wall of Fire with the hot side pointing to the south and at the attacking elves. Since he made it just outside the lower darkness field the side affect is locally around the Wall of Fire you can see, but that does not penetrate into either darkness field (the grey circles).

Androgost charges into the darkness field to try and kill the dark elf he saw for a moment before Hex's light was turned-off. As he rushes into the darkness field he disappears from the view of Hex. Even though the elven cavalier cannot see in the darkness, he does land a single blow against O1 for 9 HP.

Nah Olos still moving along the top of the tunnel wall makes it to the intersection.

Boff runs in the mostly dark corridor (only the Wall of Fire is giving any light) and when he gets to the 'T' he hopes to fire into the darkness, but he trips over a raise rock, stumbling and will need to take next round to recover from this error. (Stumble, lose next round)

Garrant and Frannie remain in the darkness waiting for the group to get in "real trouble".

Raffi is hanging on to his piton and rope in complete darkness at the top of the corridor, but is beginning to wonder if he should be getting down.

The two nearest dark elves attack Androgost with a short sword and dagger combination and neither can penetrate his armor and the second even drops his dagger.

Suddenly a green nauseous cloud comes up from the ground. Androgost and Hex are just outside the cloud and only know that it smells horribly but have no other affect. Those that are in the area of effect need to make a save vs. poison. Note that poor Qleceec does not need to worry about the save since she is lying on the floor.

Garrant sees the green cloud appear and realises the group are now in 'real trouble', using the 'north' wall for guidance he moves forward to just behind Hex. Wishing he had another Dispel Magic spell he desperately scans though his current spells for something of use.

Move to the same square as Hex, in the middle to the north.

Hex looks at Garrant as he comes to stand beside him. Do you have a spell to slow the poison in our ranger at all? he asks, pointing at the fallen woman. If it IS dark elves, poison seems likely.
The gnome will keep his eyes peeled on the wall of fire. In case any elves appear through it.

Raffi will follow his plan, and climb down and move towards his master.

Garrant

"Yes, was considering it's use, but it would mean somebody moving through the cloud."

I've thrown a couple of questions at gurusql regarding the green cloud and slow poison. I have other means to neutralise poison.

Androgost wills his sword to illuminate in an attempt to see his foe. He swings again at the last place the dark creature was before the darkness descended.

The battle in the dark
Moonday, 17th day of Planting, 597
12th day since leaving Loftwick

Androgost (AC -6, HP 60/65, Armor 25/26) (Glowing Sword)
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 48/63) (Infravision) (Unconscious)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 44/53)
Boff (AC 5, HP 60/61)
Hex (AC 0, HP 17/27, Armor 8/8)
Garrant (AC 3, HP 49/50, Armor 8/8)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 17/21, Armor 8/8)

Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 45/48) - Location unknown: missing for 8 rounds

The sound of rushing water continues, but it is clearly decreasing and in addition it is not getting any closer (or farther away). The thick and billowing mass of vapors makes it hard to see everything through the cloud of gas, but it does nothing to stop the sound. The Wall of Fire also is a good backdrop.

Androgost continues to attack the O1 dark elf, but does not get past his armor. Androgost lights up his sword, but it only helps a little in the darkness field.

Boff recovers from the fumble and does not appear to be affected by the green gas. He will be able to act normally next round.

Qleceec remains unconscious. Nah Olos who is just inside the gas is having a violent coughing fit and is unable to do anything but cough and gag.

Hex focuses on maintaining his Wall of Fire. Hex and Garrant talk about some potential spell use as Garrant moves carefully next to Hex.

Raffi leaves his piton behind, but keeps his rope and moves toward Hex and ushers Frannie to not stand alone in the dark.

O1 continues to attack Androgost but does not come close to landing a blow.

About this time the the darkness field disappears and Androgost can start to see about 20' down the corridor again. A familiar voice says, "Are you following me? Leave my friends alone."

Garrant moves around Hex up to Nah Olas, stopping just outside the cloud.

He casts Slow Poison and carefully reaches his hand into cloud to touch the half-orc.

"Nah, you need to get Qleceec out of there so I can help, get the ranger back to me."
