No worries man, just making sure where everyone is on the mapMonsieur Rose wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 2:49 pm You're right. I've been taking liberties in positioning. My mistake.
Lt. Dan helps with Bronn and the acolyte comes along...because, what else is he going to do?Cassius ties up Bronn and then drags him into the main chamber. "Better to rest in there, I think."
"Come on, let's get inside and shut the door."
Once inside the room - Roan? Zan? - Sai checks on Bronn and then flinches when the big warrior opens his eyes and looks up at him.
"Why...am I...tied up?" Bronn asks, his voice raspy and dry.
Inside the smaller room, after Fahima has determined the chests are trapped with some type of contact poision, Gormundel says, "The Patriarch was a true prick. Is there any way to remove the poison?"

Roan "Well I can think a two ways ta try an remove tha poison. Anyone got lots a water? If no then i hope all tha males gotta take a piss. It be crud but tha only two ways I can think a removin tha stuff." the dwarf replies about removing the posion in his own crud dwarvish manner this is the best his thinking brain can come up with.
well that joke prior was meant to entertain but guess I tried too hard.

"Piss would work better than water I think."
I chuckled Ed, not sure sometimes how to respond in character to jokes that seem sort of more player related than character related if you know what I mean.

Once everyone is inside, he attempts to shut the secret door and then the main door. He hears Bronn's inquiry and quietly shakes his head.

Could we us Bronn's Cloak to remove whatever is on them? Fahima, make sure you do not touch them.

All things are possible through Magic.

"Not touching anything. Maybe the cloak will work, if they went this far it wouldn't surprise me if the lock or chest is trapped as well. Also means whatever is in here was very valuable, at least to the owner."

We could rest and I could memorize Knock to open all of them at once but that would take time.

Re: The Tomb of the Lizard King
Triple Chest Threat
Once it is determined the chests are coated with deadly contact poison, no one wants to get near them, much less touch them. Ideas are broached such as resting and casting spells to hopefully open them, or using Bronn's cloak as a buffer. Even pissing on them is suggested...which draws a grunt of disgust from Gormundel. "If these were the Patriarch's chest, how the hell did HE open them? He must have had some way to bypass the poison?"
"Or he built up a tolerance to it," suggests Lt. Dan.
Bronn sighs deeply, still depressed, still holding onto life (thanks to Sai). "I'll open the fuckers. What do I care? We're all dead anyway."
The big warrior begins walking, albeit somewhat staggeringly, toward the chests...

Fahima
Fahima steps back as Bronn moves towards the chest. "Be careful, no need in all of us dying cause you have a death wish."

Roan to Bronn "Oh yer a optimist I see." he says in his usual salty gruff tone shaking his head.

"The needs...of the many..."
This is what Bronn mutters as he walks straight to the biggest chest, undeterred by any in the group, and before Gormundel can stop him, grabs the latch and lifts it open. Bronn Save vs. Poison: [1d20+1]=12+1=13
In the torch light, thousands of coins glitter and gleam with gold and platinum hues. Bronn steps back, wipes his hands on his pants, and approaches the second, much smaller chest. Only faltering for a second, the big warrior grabs the latch and opens it as well. Bronn Save vs. Poison: [1d20+1]=6+1=7
Revealed in the torch light is a small cylinder case etched with silver filigree.
Bronn coughs and chokes, falls to his knees at the third chest, and flings it open...falling face first onto the floor. His tongue lolls out of his mouth, turning black as the shocked onlookers take a step or two back from him.Bronn Save vs. Poison: [1d20+1]=2+1=3
Like the other small chest, this one too holds a single small cylinder case. This one is trimmed in gold runes of power.

He mutters to himself and shakes his head. "Forgive me if it's crude, but all this talk of undead forces the question." He pauses and decides to bring it up. "You don't suppose this is some kind of ritual thing to be brought back as an undead?"

Beware the Runes of Power. Those could be Glyphs of Warding or Fire Traps. Fahima can you check for traps on those so I can pick them up. These may be spells or some type of wand. But be careful. Don't need to lose another one to these chests.

Fahima
Fahima will try to check for traps on each open chest. Not touching the glyphs/runes and avoiding the exterior of the chests.
Find/Remove Traps [1d100]=86 [1d100]=27 [1d100]=55
She has a 50% chance.
