Re: Pregame Discussion
Thanks.
I feel like it went really well. Now, to wait the "one to two weeks" to hear back from their HR department whether I'm being considered for round two. We'll see.

Focus on being positive and good luck!

Winter is coming...
Re: Pregame Discussion
Well, sonofa....
This was a real kick in the nuts, with steel toed boots. I was so confident (like, borderline certain) that I would at least get a second interview. But, no.
Honestly, I am still in shock...
I fully expect a strong bout of depression is sure to follow. If I am absent for a while, at least you know why.
We appreciate the time and effort you invested in the application process and for your time in speaking to us about our open position. After careful consideration we regret to inform you that you were not selected for an on-site interview.

Re: Pregame Discussion
Sadly, I've gotten a lot of those responses I was to the point where I started questioning if I was even any good. I'm sorry Dave. Yes, I certainly will understand. I can relate.dmw71 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 12, 2023 5:29 am Well, sonofa....We appreciate the time and effort you invested in the application process and for your time in speaking to us about our open position. I don't want to event tell you for how long I was applying and interviewing before I got the job I'm working.

Re: Pregame Discussion
Sorry to hear that Dave. Hold in there, better times will come.
Re: Pregame Discussion
Thanks, guys. I submitted my resignation at my last job on February 3rd, so it's been over a half year without finding work.
I'm really not sure how much longer this can continue.

Things will get better. Don't give up hope and keep trying and it will work out. It sucks out there right now but you will get through it.

Re: Pregame Discussion
Been in your shoes man. My advice is to get a part-time job. It may not be what you want, but having a job, any job, is a good starting point, and a reference point with future potential employers.
Hang in there man!

Re: Pregame Discussion
What baffles me is that all these employers complain that they have tons of job openings but when applying and interviewing I get the feeling a lot of them just don't want to hire anyone. That and some of these run through an algorithm and if you don't pass it's screening no human ever sees your application/resume/CV.

Re: Pregame Discussion
That sucks, Dave. All you can do is keep plugging away; at some point, somebody will recognize what they are looking at and make you an offer.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
