"Flyin' through all dis weird swirly crap to nick a fortune from a giant floatin' rock guarded by demons an' devils? What could possibly go wrong? says Maag laconically. He takes a swig of his ale. "Yeah, why not?"
"It's either dat or stay 'ere an' drink all day, an' honestly", He lowers his voice. "der beer is a bit crap an' overpriced. Yer really payin' for der view out der window".

Torbath will nod in agreement.
Our friendly GM will have to let us know how much spell work we got done.

You’ve been here for 2 days, the job is in 4 days.
So you will have the entire 4 days you requested, plus a little time to prepare.
Again, we can hand wave the next few days and get right to the adventure, if/when everyone is ready.

"Based on your research then this stash should be that of a powerful being. I'm assuming that two such capable individuals as yourself would have a clear idea of who this is. Now I can understand why sharing that might be problematic, but I would like to know if you have determined that we will be able to do this and get away without them knowing who did this. I ask because I don't relish having some demi-god or demon show up in the midst of my dinner calling for recompense."

Alordan asks “and perhaps you can share what skills or tools you can bring to the party?”
I’m okay with a hand wave.

Amun just stares for a while, if its because she's stunned by all the new words, or if she's just considering her options carefully, we'll never know.
At Feanol's mention of a demon or demi-god she comments "I would guess that is why they need us to come along".
"Either way, I accept the terms, and I am already carrying everything I own. When do we leave?"
She glances at Aliendron, who seem to be the informal leader of the band.

Theo starts to get a little excited by the prospect of exploration, danger and adventure. He's wise enough to know that thinking this way is very foolish.

Feanol looks at Amun "I'm sure their is fighting to be done, and that is fine. But if that fighting is manageable by this group, what consequences from the actual owner are we opening ourselves to. If it is a creature powerful enough to have built or seized such a vault then unless they are out of circulation this could be a great risk. If they are not present and we can get away undetected that's good, but if they will detect us and come for us it is a fools errand.sastaz wrote: ↑Tue Aug 29, 2023 8:44 pm Amun just stares for a while, if its because she's stunned by all the new words, or if she's just considering her options carefully, we'll never know.

The Ethereal Job
Grimble seems happy that at least some of the group appears willing to partake in the gnomes offer. He does his best to appease the concerns of the others.
“Though it is true that we might technically be stealing, in a sense, I assure you this floating rock has been around a long, long time. I no longer believe we have anything to fear in that regard, as the original owner of this property is likely dust. Have you ever looted an old mausoleum, or dug up an old treasure chest? Those items belonged to someone else at one point too.”
Grumble just huffs and picks at the back of his gritty fingernails.
After nodding at Amun and agreeing to Androns idea to return in 4 days, Grimble responds to Alordan last. “Well, we’re the ones who make the bladders, of course.”
Actions?

Re: The Lost Tavern
Amun just shrugs as she addresses everyone
"I don't understand a lot of what you are saying, or of this place in fact. But if they had the power and wealth to build a fortress in a rock, floating in the space, protected by strong magic, they will probably be well off even without a few of their items. I mean, I had to eat maggots and bugs for three months when I was in captivity. These people were living in a magic rock floating around in space. There is some justice in me taking a few things from them. That is what I think about that."

Re: The Lost Tavern
Too much talking?……..got it.
The Ethereal Job
Over the next 4 days, the mages get their books in shape, sharing spells and learning new magic to use against the dangerous denizens of the pink soup.
In that time, the others can’t sit still. Anyone looking for common items in the Ethereal Marketplace are directed to different shops nearby the tavern door where they can purchase necessities. You become slightly familiar with the nearby streets, but still think heading too deep into the chaotic monstrous market could prove difficult without a guide.
With little monies between them, the group passes time watching the fighting pits downstairs and drooling over the beautiful escorts on the naughty floor. Knowing you are now working with his friends, Marlaman doesn’t hassle you about the extra days on the tab, hoping the gnomes are right about their insane idea of fishing through the floyd.
On the fourth day, the gnomes return with a large box filled with several odd looking contraptions you have never seen before. “We didn’t have anyone chicken out yet, did we?”
Actions?
Since we waved the last few days, add any basic equipment/supplies you bought in the downtime. If there was anything else you might have done, just let me know.
If there is nothing else you want to do or ask beforehand, the gnomes are ready to go when you are.

Andronichishche
During free time in the following days, Andron visits a couple market stalls to purchase a small silver mirror and some iron rations. Most of this leisure time, however, is spent sitting on the patio and gazing thoughtfully into the pink floyd of the Ethereal Plane. Between here and the smoke world, he has travelled much farther than the Big Shiny Island, his original destination. When the gnomes return on the fourth day, he glances a bit apprehensively at the box of gadgets. "Nobody on the lam." As he says this, he unconsciously double checks to ensure Mr. Maag is indeed still there.

Maag
Maag spends most of his time drinking, playing darts, arm wrestling and generally loitering around the bar. He does spend some time on a shopping trip too, picking up some rations, a couple of torches and a wooden pole.
EDIT: I deducted about 4gp from Maag too. He bought three rations, three torches and the pole.
