ELROOD SECTOR: Episode Two: Drifting

Kit studies the climb to the turret in case she needs to climb it.

If we decide one of us is going to try to take out the turret she has a 5D climbing and 3D demolitions. Zuul would be better but is a more valuable fighter. He has 4D+2 climbing and a 4D demolitions.

OOC: I may have worded that badly.....the Turret is down on the mine shaft floor....the only climbing needed is down the ladder.....the SENSOR DISH is the one surrounded by steep rocks. It's pretty simple to get to the Turret.

Vale

Vale performs life sense inside the crater, particularly around the gun and behind the blast doors.

"Perhaps we can demolish both. Kit can climb to the sensor array, and our friend Zuul here can lead the mission to take out the gun. But maybe set the charges to blow only after we leave?"

Does Kit or someone have a long range blaster? That might help keep her in the fight if she does go climbing and we tangle with pirates in the crater.

"We also need to decide what to do about that blast door." He gets out his macrobinoculars to check out the door's controls. "If we can hotwire them open instead of detonating them, that would be best."

Kit has a blaster carbine, not sure how long range that is.

"I'm fine with whatever is decided, I will support any action. I'm the diplomat, not the shooter."
Kael takes the blaster pistol anyway.

Clark has a Blaster Rifle (much longer range than a carbine) which Kit can use if she's going to climb up. Clark's grapnel thrower might be helpful too?

OOC: Yes, the Grapnel Thrower would definitely help anyone climbing the rocks to get to the Sensor Dish.....the Blaster Carbine ranges are: Range: Short = 3-25, Med=75, Long=150 meters; the Blaster Rifle's Range is: 50/150/300 meters......this is on the character sheets (which I really feel like I'm the only one who ever looks at them.... )

Do we need to take out the sensor dish now that we've landed? We tend to not leave many loose ends after we've stormed a place.

I think it might be a good idea to rig it to blow on our way out, at least, if we have the time. It could help our escape off planet if there's a chase.

With his limited training can Kael tell if the radar is a weapons only type, combo with traffic or do they run 2 at different frequencies in one are?

"If its a weapons radar, we are good with just taking out the weapon.

On the surface of the Planet Dega in the Elrood Sector


The team of NRI Agents debated and considered many possible actions as they studied the Sensor Dish nestled on a 'plateau' with high rocks around it and then peered down into a crater with a Twin Turbolaser turret on the floor of it and a blast door that led into a mining shaft that they'd been told was the 'Scourge' Pirates base.....

Most of the debates/considerations were around the nature of the sensor dish and whether they ought to attempt to climb up to it to destroy/
damage/disable it immediately or rig it to do so at a later time and the same thing with the Turret. Kit and Kael would've remembered the Sensor dish serves for both the purpose of tracking incoming vehicle traffic and is NOT directly tied to the fire control of the Turret....also, with no explosive charges, they really didn't have the means to blow it up at a later time. They certainly COULD attempt any number of ways of damaging/destroying both through other means......Zuul's Repeat Blaster, Vale's Lightsaber and of course having fun with overloading power-sources all came to mind....but Clark would realize that destroying the dish would immediately alert the pirates in the base that they were there....

That said, they decided to leave the sensor dish alone for now and climb down to the crater floor. Shortly after Kit and Zuul reached the bottom and starting walking over in the direction of the Turret and past that, the blast door that led into the base, a door on the Turbolaser slid open and a human male pirate emerged, CLEARLY not paying much attention to the world around him. He called out something to someone still in the turret and then shut the door behind him and yawned and stretched for a moment. He then turned around and saw both Kit and Zuul just LURKING over him and near him.....

The Wookie let out a growl while Zuul just grinned with all his sharp teeth visible and with a rapid series of punches and Blaster Butt clubbing, the man was quickly knocked out.....

He didn't have much on him, just a rebreather mask, a heavy blaster pistol in a belt and holster around his waist, a commlink and 10 meter coil of syntherope with a flexi-steel lanyard (a grappling hook).....

Kit hands the commlink to Vale. Then she takes the rope and lanyard for herself.

Kael takes the Heavy blaster.

"Too bad you had to knock him out. Do we play it slick and knock on the door and be let in?""

Kael is willing to do that to try and talk the man down without being clubbed.

Vale

"Yes, let's."

Vale presses against the turret wall near the door, casting his feelings out into the turret chamber to sense emotions, ready to call out a quiet warning to his companions if it seems like the pirate inside is suspicious of being called to the door (or whatever ruse is decided).

Clark simply opens the door, he's assuming it isn't locked. If this works, he'll tackle the man inside as soon as the door is open. (If it is locked, he'll simply do a quick knock and then tackle the man when he opens it).

Kael will be available to help[ if the plan falls apart.

Zuul supports this plan. He enters with Clark to watch the entertainment. And help. Yes. Help.

On the surface of the Planet Dega in the Elrood Sector


The team of NRI Agents made their move on the Twin Turbolaser Turret that protected the Pirate Base housing the 'Scourge'.....

Vale put his back to the wall, next to the door, closed his eyes and reached out to the Force while Kael wondered about attempting a ruse and Kit gathered up the rope and lanyard from the pirate they just knocked out.....

Vale could feel boredom and then slight amusement laced with irritation from the person inside the Turret and then his connection to the Force was abruptly ended as Professor Clark just strode over and yanked the door open with a happy and grinning Zuul right behind him.

"What'd you forget THIS time Murv....errr....", a human male voice started to choke out and then his eyes got wide and his hand dropped to pull a Blaster Pistol from a holster as the tall, strapping Academic rushed into the room. Professor Clark dove into the man's middle and he folded in half as his blaster pistol went flying out of his hand and ended up clattering on the floor near the toothy Zuul who was watching the fight with a gleam in his eyes......

"Get offa me you son of a....whoa....I don't want no trouble, now", the bruised and out of breath Pirate said as he started to wrestle out of Clark's grip on the floor and then looked up to see the massive Barabel looming over him and the fight just....drained....out of him.....

Kael kept and eye out while Kit finished gathering up the gear and Kato just watched everything with wide eyes darting every which way......

Kael will look primarily in the way we need to go, and wondering if the turret can do a 360.

Zuul

Zuul looks a bit disappointed at the lack of violence but quickly recovers. "Good. Now, here'ss the part where you tell him what you know. And quickly."

He smiles again, in case the pirate needs more motivation.
