Reven Stiilpahth monitors the engineering systems closely on this first flight.

Maggie OK - Yes - still aboard appears from below. Life support nominal, Missiles and Sandcaster nominal. Lasers missing.

Reven returns from the depths of the ship to report that there is little of concern but nothing that a complete overhaul wouldn't improve.

For the first time ever, the crew are together, the only things on the sensors are the occasional, uninhabitable asteroid and the sense of palpable relief can be felt amongst all aboard. Watch and Station Bill needed please.

How does this first spot relate to finding my father? asks Assana. And what is this Hebden chap to us?

On the bridge, Pranitt sets the course to the arteroid taking into accout other p[otential traffic and not wanting to be seen.

Watch station bill, I suppose its my job. I would say a 2 person watch, Bridge and Engineering. Alternating 6 hour watches.

Indrani turns her chair to face Assani. "Good questions. The simple answer is, we need to get away from the people who keep attacking us. Hebden is related to the reasons why we're being attacked. We have to solve that problem before we can try to find your father."

Indrani is right. It would not be fair to search for your father while we are so closely pursued ourselves. He has hidden himself well, and I will not lead his enemies to him.

Hedben is our guide to finding out who is trying to kill us, and why. He gave me the key to his data cache. Hopefully it contains, or will lead us to, something that will end this.

Indrani and I have certificates for both Bridge and Engineering, I believe.

She turns to Indrani: I looked you up. You are a better Fusion Plant tech, I am a higher rated pilot.

Maggie is also certified as both an Engineer and Pilot.

Either of us could, technically, monitor both positions. As long as only one system suffers an emergency at any time, anyone else could cover the other. Assana, for example.

Reven Stiilpahth "Don't trust me to pilot anymore?" He grins at Nālani. "I am able to cover astrogation, comms, and maybe astronomy as well. Actually, i'm a better astrogator than engineer."

"Well I am a qualfied bridge deck and conn officer and a good sensor officer. I can swing a wrench, Mech 0 but I would not say i'm qualified.

If the Captain agrees to a single watchstander for the ship. We should do 4 - 4 hours shifts, or 4 on and 12 off. I will have to have someone to call if there is a problem in engineering. So I will ask whoever is awake, or Reven and make it so you follow me in the watchbill.

Nālani noticeably relaxes her stiff posture, apparently relieved that there is no conflict.

That sounds very practical. There will always be a second person awake to assist, and everyone will be able to rest properly. It is fortunate that we have such a well-rounded crew.

We are not on a commercial route, and we are not heading to a place we may be expected. Hopefully anyone threatening will be accelerating enough to alert the queen. Single person Bridge Watch should be sufficient.

Perhaps I ought to take the first watch. In case, we are pursued.

Then, when we are clear, we can see if Hebden has bluffed or not.

"Agreed," Indrani says as she rises from her command chair. "Nalani you have the conn. I'll be in my quarters." Indrani leaves the bridge and goes to her cabin for a shower and some sleep.

Reven Stiilpahth remains seated until everyone besides Nālani leaves.

Nālani waits until she and Reven are the only crew on the bridge.

Relaxing into her Belter accent: I nah forget your Pilot ticket, just thought you need a quiet cruise. Beside, you're best keeping the Queen flying, I prefer you keep doing that.

Do you think the crew would react ... poorly if they knew? With such a tight fit schedule, i don't want you to have to be covering for me."

Nālani considers the question: I'm not sure about that. Don't know them well enough yet to tell how they'll react. Navy. Tend to be pretty conservative.

You know me and secrets, I'll always say don't tell, but, really, you're the one that knows best. What's your instinct?
