Happy new year! Here's to a good one!

You got my motto perfect.

This comment made me wonder about how long our characters have actually been here. (This is just curiosity, not having a go at you Kruk)kruk wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 2:38 am

The cleric guides the hammer towards the larger threat: the dragon. Seeing that her life and the druids is most likely about the end she states: I've enjoyed adventuring with you all these years. We brought light and hope to an otherwise dark, dangerous and evil place.

(OM posted the "Start Here" thread on Jan 5th 2017, so we've been trapped in this hellhole over seven years now Gilligan's Island only lasted three!)
I can't see a date on the "Let's get on Board" thread but Adventure #1 left Beachtown on 19th of Reaping. The most current date I can find is at the end of the Momma Pamma adventure: 12th Harvester (which was when we arrived in the Funhouse. OM doesn't seem to have posted any dates after that... hmmm , though I haven't scanned everything after that)
So with 28 days in each month, 19th Reaping to 12th Harvester is about 50 days.

My char Theo (now a 3rd level Ranger!) is the relative n00b/Japanese sailor on the island. And he arrived in November 2019. He suspected what he might be in for when fellow ranger Alordan asked him for any spare arrows. FNG though he is, Theo was around when the 50,000th post went up on or around 2/15/2023. (Hope I have the 50,000 figure right-- that's too incredible, it can't be correct. Maybe need to take off a 0).

Re: B S (XI)
I am not sure where to find the total # of posts but 50,000 wouldn't surprise me. The main page shows 38,250 before my post. But I don't think that includes all the posts for some reason.
Re: B S (XI)
The numbers don't show up on my phone but they do on my laptop. We're on 38,169. There are fewer players now and OM isn't juggling 3-4 different parties plus whatever is happening in town

Re: B S (XI)
I see 52,256 posts.
I don't think the private posts are figured into the number you see on the game list.
Admittedly, I did have some change of heart with this game after we lost a bunch of players who were going to be vital in how the future of the game played out, but that is something I should have considered might happen from the beginning, so I certainly don't blame anyone who is still around.
The actual timeline is far less relevant now than it would have been if my helper PC ideas were allowed to flourish, but I still appreciate all the players who have contributed to this monster along the way.
I sincerely believe that the players make the game, and we have had some really great ones here!!!
Thanks everyone!!!!

Re: B S (XI)
Hi all, I have chosen to opt out of this game. Enjoy!
Re: B S (XI)
I have a question Rob if you are inclined to answer it.
How many hp did moma dragon have after I hit her with the lightning bolt?

Re: B S (XI)
Not many.
I have it scratched down in my notes at work, but it was only like…..a dozen or so.
Your damage roll was impressive.

Thanks, I knew we were close just curious.
Re: B S (XI)
I was typing that out and thinking how absurd it seems to have that much healing power in one party. I've never played high level games (except one shots like Tomb of Horrors) where presumably things like that are routine. Anybody else ever been in a situation like this, or another weirdly overpowered party?Jernau35 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 3:06 am We've got plenty of healing spells between us. If I'm counting right, we've got 20 CLWs and one CSW between us.
If we rest tonight and spend them all tomorrow we might get a decent amount of hp back, depending on the Dice Roller.
Assuming we get the chance of a second nights rest, maybe spend another ten CLWs?

Re: B S (XI)
I would call us low to mid-level not high but it is semantics I suppose. I would say my D&D games experience is 80% low, 15% mid, and 5% high. All that said, our healing capabilities is due to an abundance of Cleric types, not level. Four of the 6 survivors are all Cleric types. Two Druids (6th and 5th level) and 2 Clerics (5th and 4th). Of the 2 we lost one was a Cleric (3rd level). How many parties have you played with that were 2/3 Clerics of one sort or another?
Re: B S (XI)
Still in disbelief that we were able to survive that encounter with only the loss of two members of the party. Wow.
